President Joe Biden may be a little bleary-eyed after spending Tuesday night in his former hometown of Scranton.
For three hours, a group of about six anti-Israel protesters chanted with a loudspeaker outside of his hotel.
The group gathered around 9 p.m. and stayed until just after midnight, chanting a serious of slogans including “Genocide Joe has got to go,” “murder,” “Wake up sleepy Joe,” and “I am your nightmare, Biden.”
Along with the shouting, the group blasted the 1976 Thin Lizzy hit “The Boys are Back in Town” and rap music. They also banged on drums and used other noisemakers to try to keep the president awake. It’s unclear if Biden heard them or not.
Since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks triggered the latest conflict between the group and Israel, protesters have trailed the president nearly everywhere he goes, including fundraisers, family vacations, and even funerals.
Biden in recent weeks has tilted his stance on the issue more toward their cause, demanding an “immediate ceasefire” in the conflict earlier this month. But that doesn’t seem to be slowing down the protest movement.
Pro-Palestinian protesters have taken on aggressive tactics in other places as well, barricading themselves in front of the Democratic National Committee headquarters, blocking traffic in major cities, and parading through retail stores.

Some politicians, including Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and John Fetterman (D-PA), have publicly called for them to knock it off, with Cotton controversially calling for blocked motorists to “take matters into your own hands.”
Biden is leaving Scranton for Pittsburgh today, where he will speak before a steelworkers union.
