An illegal immigrant from Egypt accused of injuring 12 people in a Molotov cocktail attack on a Jewish group was indicted Wednesday on federal hate crime charges.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, attacked Run for Their Lives, a Jewish group looking to raise awareness for hostages held by Hamas, on June 1 in Boulder, Colorado. He was charged with 12 hate crime counts after wounding 12 people with Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower while shouting, “Free Palestine!”

Soliman quickly revealed the motive behind the attack as being anti-Israel. A document was recovered from Soliman’s vehicle describing Israel as a “cancer entity” and claiming, “Zionism is our enemies untill [sic] Jerusalem is liberated and they are expelled from our land,” according to the Department of Justice.

In an interview with law enforcement, Soliman said that “anyone supporting the exist [sic] of Israel on our land” was a Zionist. He said he “decide[d] to take [his] revenge from these people” after a quick search on the internet for nearby Zionist events and identified Run for Their Lives.

Soliman told investigators that he wished to carry out other attacks against Zionists, according to court documents viewed by KATC.

“He stated that he wanted to kill all Zionist people and wished they were all dead,” an FBI agent stated in a criminal complaint.

The FBI and Boulder Police Department are investigating the case.

Though Soliman’s attack claimed no fatalities, it quickly earned national attention as one of several terrorist attacks against Jewish people amid the war in Gaza. President Donald Trump promised a zero-tolerance policy in a post on Truth Social shortly after the attack.

“Yesterday’s horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America,” he said earlier this month. “He came in through Biden’s ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under ‘TRUMP’ Policy.”
