Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has announced that she will file a privileged motion to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and refer the Democratic congressman to the House Ethics Committee. Her announcement comes shortly after the House voted to table a measure to censure Schiff Wednesday.

Luna said that she is filing this privileged motion to ensure that "there is no confusion," adding that some members of Congress "did not accurately read the bill."

"See you next week Adam," Luna wrote on social media.

The Florida congresswoman's decision to proceed with the privileged motion comes after 20 House Republicans joined most Democrats in voting "no" to her previous measure to censure Schiff. Seven other members voted "present" on the measure, including two Republicans and five Democrats.

In total, the House voted 225-196 to table the motion, falling short of the 218 majority votes needed to censure Schiff over allegations he abused the trust of his constituents by pushing claims that former President Donald Trump had conspired with Russia to win the 2016 presidential race. Luna had introduced the measure on Tuesday, building on her previous efforts to remove Schiff from office altogether.

In the wake of the vote, Schiff described the failed attempt to censure him as "a badge of honor that I will wear proudly.

"MAGA Republicans are going after me because I dared to hold Donald Trump accountable," he wrote on social media. "These efforts to intimidate me will not succeed. I will always defend our democracy."

In tabling the motion, Schiff avoids formal condemnation and a $16 million fine.

Earlier this month, Luna called Schiff a "criminal" and alleged that he lied when he claimed he stumbled across "more than circumstantial evidence" that Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with Russia. However, Special Counsel John Durham's report, released in May, concluded that “neither U.S. law enforcement nor the intelligence community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation."
