“We can confirm that we have authorized charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women,” a CPS spokesperson said. “These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.”
The Tates previously moved from the U.K. to Romania, where they bragged that laws were more lax.
“I’m not a rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want. I like being free,” Andrew Tate said in a deleted video clip.
The duo was arrested and confined to house arrest in 2023, shortly after skyrocketing to internet stardom over “manosphere” content that appealed to younger audiences.
Prior to internet fame, the two amassed a fortune through operating a sex webcam business. Romanian prosecutors have alleged the duo groomed dozens of women into becoming online prostitutes, including minors. Romania found at least 35 victims who alleged wrongdoing by the pair. Andrew Tate has bragged online about behavior that would widely be considered abusive.

Andrew and Tristan Tate were allowed to briefly return to the United States in February for a promotional tour, though they have since returned to Romania. CPS said the Romanian case must be settled before facing charges in the U.K.
