The View co-host Ana Navarro expressed some anxiety surrounding Govs. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Ron DeSantis (R-FL) debating.

Navarro's fellow co-hosts were discussing the future debate on Friday's show with some optimism to see an exchange of ideas. The resident Republican, who admits to giving donations to Democratic candidates and campaigning for President Joe Biden, claimed a debate wasn't such a good idea.

BIDEN AND REPUBLICANS DUKE IT OUT TO DEFINE THE ECONOMY

"Because what Republicans do incredibly effectively — they do it when they come to this show — is pick fights, and then use it to raise funds, raise their profile, and, you know, portray themselves like they are these champions and these warriors," Navarro said. "That's what DeSantis — if DeSantis is desperate for any headline that's not about him being 35 points down."

On the other hand, co-host Joy Behar lamented that President Joe Biden is not doing well portraying himself as an effective politician.

"According to what I'm observing, the economy is booming. Inflation is down. The stock market is doing well. People are having an easier time putting bread on the table," Behar said. "[Biden] doesn't seem to be getting the credit for that, only 41% approval. Is it because they think he's old? Because I don't see anything else they can point to with him particularly."

A July poll from the Economist and YouGov reported 61% of voters believe Biden is not the Democrats' strongest candidate the party could nominate, and 53% of voters believe former President Donald Trump is not the strongest candidate for Republicans in 2024.

"I am the same age as Joe Biden," Behar said before getting interrupted.
