President Joe Biden can’t base his reelection campaign on any actual successes, so he has to base it all on supporting the killing of unborn children.
Abortion is just about the only thing Biden has working for him in his reelection campaign, which explains the wall-to-wall media coverage of former President Donald Trump’s grand abortion plan. Trump dropped his ridiculous notion that he could reach a “compromise” with Democrats on the issue, reaching the conclusion that the issue should be left to the states.
This is a five-alarm fire for Democrats and their media allies because every opinion on abortion that isn’t legal abortion up to birth with no restrictions is a five-alarm fire for them. Biden and Democratic operatives want to turn this into the biggest issue for 2024 because it is the only issue that Biden even has a pulse on at this point.
Biden ran against Trump as the adult in the room, a man of empathy and competence who would command the respect of global enemies and allies alike. His empathy has since been exposed as the sham it always was, using his son’s death to try and avoid criticism for his botched Afghanistan withdrawal. That withdrawal also proved Biden’s incompetence and that Russia wasn’t as intimidated by Biden as he claimed, as Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in the aftermath of Afghanistan.
Since then, Hamas launched a war against Israel and Biden is taking Hamas’s side. Empathy, competence, and global respect have all gone out the window. Biden can’t use those talking points in his reelection campaign.
He also can’t run on any of his “successes” because they do not exist. Remember “Bidenomics,” Biden’s attempt to boast that he had some sort of grand, successful economic vision? Democrats ran away from that almost as soon as Biden coined it, and even Biden uses it sparingly now if at all. Voters prefer Trump’s economy over the inflation of Biden’s. They also prefer Trump’s stance on the border, another problem for Biden given that immigration is the biggest issue for voters other than the economy.

In other words, Biden’s whole 2020 campaign image is shattered, his economic vision is synonymous with higher prices, and the most important noneconomic issue is one of his biggest liabilities. What else does he have, other than the nominal popularity of supporting abortion and a liberal media apparatus that will frantically decry any GOP position as wanting to ban abortion entirely and kill women?
Biden has nothing else to run on. His campaign is desperate given his unpopularity, declining mental faculties from his advanced age, and his incompetent policies making peoples’ lives worse. Republicans shouldn’t have to humor his every attempt to turn 2024 into an abortion election because that is all Biden is going to want to talk about from now until November.
