President Joe Biden will give an exclusive interview with ABC News on Friday, his first since his lackluster performance during the presidential debate last week.

The network announced on Tuesday that Biden will sit down while traveling on the campaign trail with “Good Morning America” co-anchor and “This Week” anchor George Stephanopoulos on July 5.

A first look will air on July 5 on “World News Tonight with David Muir,” with other portions airing on Saturday and Sunday on “Good Morning America.” The extended interview will air on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” and “Good Morning America” on July 8.

The news of Biden’s interview comes after the president performed poorly during the first debate of the 2024 presidential cycle. While most Democrats have avoided calling on Biden to step aside, a few have released statements encouraging Vice President Kamala Harris to take the reins.
