Using the phrase “boy” to describe black men has traditionally been considered a racist slur. Its offensive origins stem from the historical use of the word by a white person in a demeaning way against black men. A court case in 2011 conditionally reinforced this. So, it’s puzzling why President Joe Biden would use the word to describe Wes Moore, Maryland’s first black governor. It’s the latest example of the fake outrage and double standards that Democrats have about racism.
“And you got a hell of a new governor in Wes Moore, I tell you. He’s the real deal. And the boy looks like he can still play,” Biden said. “He got some guns on him.”
THERE IS ONLY ONE NATIONAL ANTHEM
Biden made the slur while addressing the IBEW Local 26 union in Lanham, Maryland, on Wednesday. In addition to the trope, Biden also appeared to use “blaccent” when describing Moore’s muscular physique. The positive and complimentary description aside, these are things the Left has repeatedly told us were derogatory and discriminating. Yet, the same people turn a blind eye when Biden, or any Democrat, says them. Just imagine the outrage and condemnation if former President Donald Trump said something like this.
Former NFL player and congressional candidate, Jerone Davison, took issue with Biden’s comment. He also said it’s par for the course from Biden and the other Democrats who cause “destruction in black communities.”
“Moore is just another Democrat plantation ‘boy,’ who, like Obama, gets in a position to help the black community only to stand by and watch it grow worse,” Davison told me. “Biden, although suffering from some mental decline, still has the spirit of white supremacists who view black men as boys.”
Moreover, this is not the first time Biden has used microaggressions and slurs regarding black people. In 2007, while describing then-candidate Sen. Barack Obama, Biden said that Obama was “the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Biden received some criticism but remained relatively unscathed. But, had this been a Republican, all hell would have broken loose.
“Please notice they never corrected him for his demeaning attitudes and platitudes,” Davison said.
These examples should serve as reminders that the country should really not pay any attention to Democrats when they express outrage over racism. They have repeatedly shown their condemnation is selective and only applicable when they could use it for political gain. The actual damage from these comments, the kind of trauma Democrats claim such slurs and tropes cause, is realistically nothing.
Biden continues to get a free pass for his bigotry. Left-wing outrage is bogus and merely political theater and a not-so-subtle indoctrination attempt. At this point, when it comes to claims of racism, no one should take the Left seriously.
