Joe Biden will declare in tonight’s State of the Union address that partisan fighting is bad and that there is no obstacle to the Republican Party working with his White House.

The implication here is that Biden is okay with "fascism," and that he thinks existential threats to democracy are just fine.
Biden’s midterm message was that Republicans are “semi-fascists.” He called basically all Republicans “MAGA Republicans,” and said “I don’t respect these MAGA Republicans.” Further, he said in his Red Speech that Republicans are “attacking democracy, right? They are taking away rights and freedoms.”
So now Biden is saying that none of these attacks should get in the way of working together.
One possibility is that Biden never believed anything he said — he was simply slandering Republicans. Slander is bad, even when it’s for political gain.
Another possibility is that Biden sees no issue in working together with semi-fascist enemies of democracy.
Biden defenders in the media will argue that Biden wasn’t calling all Republicans semi-fascist or enemies of democracy, just some Republicans. But that’s a paper-thin cover story that nobody should have ever believed, and certainly nobody should believe now.
Note that one defining trait of being a “MAGA Republican,” per Biden’s telling is being pro-life.
Today should've been the 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Instead, MAGA Republican officials are waging a war on women's right to make their own health care decisions.

But this fight isn't over.
Biden made this point regularly. You are a MAGA Republican if you agree with the U.S. Supreme Court and the dozens of state legislatures that are acting to protect unborn babies. Supporting pro-life laws is a central plank of the Republican platform, and so when Biden attacks “MAGA Republicans," he is attacking all Republicans.
“MAGA Republicans” isn’t about the national conservatives — we know because Biden uses the same attack on MAGA Republicans that every Democrat has always used on the GOP establishment:
We understand something that MAGA Republicans in Congress don't.

Wall Street didn’t build this country. Working people did.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been more forthright that the disrespect and hatred from the White House is directed at all Republicans: "So what we're seeing from Republicans, and what we have seen from Republicans these past several years is that they are attacking our democracy,” she told CNN. “They are taking away our freedom. And they are trying to put on the chopping blocks Medicare and Social Security. That's what we are seeing…and that is what we are trying to prevent.”
Reporters should ask Biden which it is: Is he fine working with semi-fascists, or was he just engaged in casual slander last year?
