Across our once great nation, we are seeing our cities devolve into a dystopian nightmare of crime, drugs, homelessness, and violence, especially violence against minority populations. Our major cities — New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles — are all being ruled by liberal mayors and progressive prosecutors who are more interested in social justice than in legal justice. There is one man whose dark money is behind the managed decline of our nation and its great cities: George Soros.
As far back as 2016, Soros channeled “$3 million into seven district attorney campaigns in six states,” per Politico . Since 2016, there has been “some $30 million in funding tracked from Soros through a personal network of political action committees (PACs) formed specifically to back radical, left-wing DA candidates.”
Soros’s investment in prosecutors has now topped $40 million and has resulted in him helping to elect 75 prosecutors nationwide. The agenda these prosecutors have implemented upon entering office has had devastating consequences.
A prime example of how these progressive prosecutors are destroying our cities comes from Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner. Krasner, who received $1.5 million from Soros, “dropped charges on more than 60% of shooting cases and 37% of illegal firearms cases in the two years after taking office in 2018. Not coincidentally, shootings and homicides have spiked since then. In 2020, Philadelphia prosecuted the lowest number of felony cases in 30 years — even though the city saw 499 homicides, more than New York has with five times the population,” according to the New York Post .
Krasner is just one example of many. The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund analyzed the outcome of dropping conviction rates under six different progressive district attorneys: “These district attorneys are cited as ‘criminal justice reform’ prosecutors who seek to use their elected positions to unilaterally end mass incarnation and racial disparities in convictions and reduce recidivism rates.” According to the Capital Research Center , the report found that “in each of the six prosecutors’ jurisdictions, felony crime rates have increased while their prosecutors’ policies are reducing conviction rates." The report concludes, “This signals a troubling trend as these progressive activists attain local prosecutorial roles and may mark a rise in crime in the affected jurisdictions and nearby locales.” All six district attorneys were funded by George Soros.
Over the next few weeks, I will examine the role Soros has played in driving our cities into chaos and explore the role that his bought-and-paid-for prosecutors have played in contributing to that chaos and urban decay, both through their actions and inactions.
The first installment in this series will examine New York City and the role Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has played in driving up crime, drug use, and death in the now-rotten Big Apple.
By the end, I hope readers will understand that the devastation plaguing our urban centers is intentional and that only by acknowledging this reality can we begin to solve the crises this country is experiencing.
