Six people were killed in a series of shootings in Mississippi Friday, police said.

Tate Country Sheriff Brad Lance told CBS News that the shootings occurred in a store and two separate homes in Arkabutla, Mississippi.

One man was killed in the store, one woman was killed in one of the homes, and two people were killed in the other home.

It was not immediately clear where the other two deaths occurred.
