Skateboard star Tony Hawk announced on Friday that he will donate half of the proceeds from his autographed photos, signed by himself and BMX rider Rick Thorne, to the Tyre Nichols Memorial Fund.

“My proceeds from these will go to the Tyre Nichols Memorial Fund, which includes plans to build a public skatepark in his honor; as our worlds continue to grieve his loss,” Hawk tweeted. “He was a talented skater among other admirable traits. Let’s keep his legacy alive.”

The 29-year-old Nichols was an avid skateboarder.

Thorne's website has a 1,000 photos for purchase for sale at $30 a photo.

The BMX rider says on his website that he wants to help out the Nichols family and "to build a memorial skate park in his name, honoring his love for skateboarding."

Nichols died during a police traffic stop that led to a violent and fatal beating. Five of the former Memphis police officers have been charged with his death. Memphis Police Department has further fired six officers and suspended another officer involved in the incident.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland announced Friday that the DOJ's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services is helping to conduct a monthslong review of the Memphis Police Department following the fatal beating of Nichols.
