


President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Monday ahead of his trip to Warsaw, Poland.
As air raid sirens sounded, Biden met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and reaffirmed his “unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity” amid its conflict with Russia.

Biden was seen walking the streets of Kyiv with Zelensky in a gesture of solidarity.
The two leaders visited St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv before participating in a wreath-laying ceremony at a memorial wall.
Biden also met with Zelensky at Mariinsky Palace, the presidential palace in Kyiv.
After signing a guest book, Biden announced an additional half billion in U.S. assistance for Ukraine.
“One year later, Kyiv stands, and Ukraine stands. Democracy stands,” Biden said during his meeting with Zelensky. “The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you.”

Biden is next expected to visit Poland.
Feb. 24 will mark one year since Russia invaded Ukraine.
