Famed attorney Gloria Allred announced Thursday the filing of a new lawsuit against actor Alec Baldwin for the Rust set shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on behalf of her mother, father, and sister in Ukraine.
The lawsuit is necessary despite Baldwin's previous settlement with her widower, Matthew Hutchins, as it pertains to justice for her other family members who are still in Ukraine, Allred said at a Thursday afternoon press conference.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, per Allred. It names several defendants, ranging from Baldwin to producers to production companies.

Halyna Hutchins's mother, Olga Solovey, is "devastated by shocking killing of her beautiful daughter," Allred explained to the press, noting that "Halyna was the light in their lives."
She further claimed that they "depended on each other for emotional and financial support.”
Between losing their daughter and sister and "living in Ukraine in the midst of Putin's war," she explained that “they will not be able to enjoy life in the same way.”
According to Allred, "Svetlana is a young mother who is caring for her 4-year-old and breastfeeding her infant, often in the dark. Her husband has been away, fighting in the war on the front lines and has only recently come home for a visit." Further, Solovey is a front-line nurse.
A video was shown at the conference of Solovey and Svetlana Zemko speaking in Russian. Her father, Anatolii Androsovych, was not included in the video. According to a translation, Zemko said, “It is one of the biggest losses of my life” to lose her sister.
She added that it has contributed to the “utter suffering of our parents and how their health has sharply declined.”
“To leave this unpunished is unallowable,” she said.
According to Allred, there "has been no outreach to them by Mr. Baldwin to even say he was sorry.”
She also revealed that Baldwin has "vigorously" attempted to fend off their suit through his lawyer.
The suit is "alleging battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and loss of Consortium for our three plaintiffs," Allred said.
The suit does not name an amount being sought for damages, claiming, "Plaintiffs have suffered substantial damages in an amount which cannot presently be ascertained."
However, they believe that the damages incurred are "within the jurisdictional limits of this Court, according to proof at time of trial."
Last month, Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter. He is expected in court in New Mexico for his first hearing on Feb. 24.

His lawyer, Luke Nikas of Quinn Emanuel, insisted that “this decision distorts Halyna Hutchins’ tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice" when the intent to charge the actor was announced.
"Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun — or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win," he said in a statement to the Washington Examiner at the time.
