The worst ideas almost always seem to arise from universities, don’t they? The Wall Street Journal recently published an editorial scorching Stanford University’s “Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative,” which does away with triggering words like “American,” “immigrant,” and “master.” “Call yourself an ‘American’? Please don’t. Better to say ‘U.S. citizen,’ per the bias hunters, lest you slight the rest of the Americas,” they wrote.
We’ve heard of “womxn,” which uses the “x” to remove any trace of the word “man.”
Northwest Missouri State University threw us a curveball, though, when it announced the theme of its “Womynx History Month.” That’s the only occasion where we’ve seen “womynx,” thankfully, though there may be others out there.
Now Christopher Rufo has got a hold of the University of Texas’ speech code, which defines the word “wimmin” as a nonstandard spelling of “women” to avoid including “men.” (The excerpt also defines white supremacy and woke.)
“Trans wimmin are wimmin.”
Yep … white folx are like goldfish in a bowl, not realizing that they’re swimming around in whiteness and white privilege every day.
What this editor can’t understand is how universities, as woke as they are, are still handing out “bachelor’s” and “master’s” degrees to wimmin. That’s as sexist as it gets.
