If you were hoping today would bring us good tidings of great joy and a new Speaker of the House, well, I'm going to disappoint you. Apparently, the GOP Conference decided on Representative Emmer, but then a whole bunch of Republicans said they would not vote for Emmer and therefore, Emmer was going to be a no go.
Then, the news came Emmer is dropping out of the race for Speaker altogether.
This feels like being on a ride at an amusement park, but way less fun and way more nauseating.
So, here is the new list of current prospects for Speaker. Can any of these people make it through to the end? Only time will tell.
Well, to be fair, they want it, but no one can get enough votes.
That's putting it politely.
You really have to keep your head on swivel around here.
If Kevin Hern can indeed unite this party, he deserves a parade.
Maybe he is him. Only time will tell.
On the other hand, some conservative figures think the lack of a Speaker is just fine and the less they get done, the better. It's actually not a bad thought.
