As Twitchy reported early Wednesday morning, Daily Caller reporter Jennie Taer asked Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg about the crisis in East Palestine, Ohio. In a serious creeper move, Buttigieg avoided the question and instead took a photo of Taer. Are he and Chasten into scrapbooking or something, or was this a really pathetic attempt at intimidation?
While in East Palestine Thursday, Buttigieg’s press secretary was asked why he took the photo and what he planned to do with it. She refused to answer … at least not on camera. “You’re the press secretary, talking to the press,” Taer tweeted. No cameras? What would you say your job is, exactly, aside from sheltering Buttigieg from reporters?
Politico wrote up a piece on Republicans pouncing on Buttigieg over his slow response to the train disaster, showing how the GOP had put a “harsh spotlight” on Buttigieg.
Omri Ceren noticed Politico giving Buttigieg a pass by reporting that he was “ambushed” by The Daily Caller’s reporter during his “personal time.”
“His curt brush-off of a Daily Caller reporter who ambushed him during a walk turned into a viral video that has drawn more than 3 million views since Tuesday night.” Can’t a cabinet secretary take a walk during his personal time without being ambushed by the press?
Coming soon …
The press keeps mentioning Buttigieg’s presidential aspirations and how he’s really tanking them with his half-assed response to the East Palestine derailment. They really want that Buttigieg/Harris ticket in 2024.
