California Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to be president so badly. Last month, he announced he’s set aside $10 million for his “Campaign for Democracy” tour, during which he’d visit red states like Florida to “learn more about the rightwing assaults across the country.” Never mind that as governor he signed bills prohibiting state-funded travel to these exact states, due to their laws on abortion, transgender access to women’s spaces, etc.

Newsom was walking through what we believe to be San Francisco Wednesday when a man named J.J. Smith asked him what he was going to do about the fentanyl epidemic. Newsom’s considered answer? You tell me what I’m supposed to do about the fentanyl epidemic.

Seriously.

We missed him doffing his cap to his fans. He reminds this editor of Jack Nicholson’s Joker. Or the “American Psyco” guy.

Apparently, he came back:

Newsom must have realized he’d look like an even bigger douchebag if he let that first video make it online.

He really has no idea — they don’t enforce laws in California.

Addressing the fentanyl crisis would mean addressing the border, and there’s no way Newsom’s going to do that.
