


Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg gave a press conference Tuesday after Donald Trump was arraigned and charged with 34 counts that would be misdemeanors, but with a little charge-stacking can be made a felony. A reporter asked Bragg why that mystery felony charge wasn’t included in Trump’s indictment, and Bragg answered that the law didn’t require him to.
Bragg seems to think the big crime here is Trump trying to influence the outcome of the election by concealing information — which certainly doesn’t sound unique to Trump. But what federal statute does that violate?
