Both Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump both had events planned in Iowa Saturday, but Trump’s rally has been canceled due to a tornado warning. DeSantis went ahead with his indoor event, and to hear the Associated Press tell it, he “made little effort to connect with voters one-on-one.”

” … where prospective supporters for his yet-to-be-announced presidential campaign could sign up.”

The AP continues: “But DeSantis devoted little time for selfies or handshakes in Sioux Center.”

DeSantis took selfies, shook hands, and even helped man the grill for a little bit. We’re not sure how AP’s reporter took that as making little effort to connect with voters.
