Yesterday we posted audio of Arizona Republican Party Chair Jeff DeWitt trying to bribe Kari Lake to get out of the race for Senate in Arizona. He said he was doing it on behalf of “people back east”.

Today Steve Bannon accuses the DeSantis campaign of being behind the bribe attempt:

This makes no sense to me. Why would DeSantis care about Kari Lake becoming the Senator of Arizona?

No, what this sounds like to me is that the donor class isn’t happy that she’s going to win the Republican primary (she’s leading by a lot) and they want someone like Mark Lamb or whoever else to win the race. I don’t think this has anything to do with DeSantis and it’s ridiculous for Bannon to even suggest such a thing. I know Bannon is a MAGA die hard who hates DeSantis but come on…
