It must be nice to be a member of the Mainstream Media (or MSM.)
Most other Americans roll out of bed and have to cook breakfast, get kids off to school, then get in their cars and navigate clogged highways—frequently dodging vehicles driven by illegals with no driver’s licenses or insurance, swerving wildly between lanes—all before getting to their jobs. Whether as an accountant or a doctor or lathe operator, they go out to perform tasks that require skill and much effort for about eight hours before making the return trip home while dodging more dangerous numbskulls on the Interstate.
MSM members like Kristen Welker or Jake Tapper probably face no such challenges. They likely wake up in a great mood, knowing they have only one item on their To Do lists: “How can I smear President Donald J. Trump today?”
This past weekend was Exhibit A. Hysterical reports on MSNBC, CNN, plus in the moribund New York Times and Washington Post all highlighted the frightened “citizens” (code: illegals) and officials of Chicago and Boston trembling as they prepared for troops being sent their way by the White House to quell crime.
(Ignoring the 58 people shot in Chicago over Labor Day weekend, the MSM cranked out video and print reports on how “crime is dropping” in the Windy City.) Irrational nuts like Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu preened for the cameras…declaring they would “defy” President Trump by stopping ICE from rounding up violent illegals which they see as an “invasion” of their communities.
But on the Salem Media news program THIS WEEK ON CAPITOL HILL with Tony Perkins, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill pointed out that the sight of troops on the streets of New Orleans or Baton Rouge would hardly startle any residents…in fact, they would welcome the National Guard quelling crime.
“You know we’ve seen troops brought in before. We saw it, frankly, in January after the terrorist attack,” Murrill declared, adding “The National Guard’s job is essentially to help manage civil problems with a state. They work to establish law and order in the streets after a hurricane and we can do that here, too, if we have crime that’s out of control in a city.”
Funny how the MSM somehow overlooked that perspective while shoving microphones in the faces of any available anti-Trump malcontents in Chicago.
Then there was the president’s trip to Flushing Meadows to attend the men’s final match of the U.S. Open on Sunday. The congenitally-biased Associated Press (whose website features a popup promising “News without an agenda”) roared that the president “was loudly booed on Sunday, where extra security caused by his visit led to lines long enough that many people missed the start of play.” AP added “Trump appeared to more boos before the National Anthem,” noting that he appeared to smirk “which briefly made to boos louder.”
Cue MSNBC, the vile women of “The View” and other left-leaning media to parrot the AP’s “News without an agenda” by screaming throughout Monday that the crowd booed Trump vigorously.
There was much more happening this weekend, including coverage of last month's tragic stabbing death of a female Ukrainian refugee on a light rail train in North Carolina. The woman was white…while her accused ex-con murderer is black; that was enough for the MSM to launch a total, er, blackout on any coverage. Social media headlined the horrific crime, but don’t hold your breath for any MSNBC stories.
(The New York Post even had to step up with details on how GoFundMe finally pulled sickening fundraisers aimed at helping the stabber because of widespread public outrage.)
And with at least six people shot dead in a gruesome terrorist attack on a bus in Jerusalem—especially this close to the anniversary of the Hamas massacres on October 7th—you would think even CBS or the Drudge Report would highlight this shocking news. But you would be wrong.
Hours after the Jerusalem killings overseas and the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska who was knifed dozens of times by that deranged madman on that light rail train in North Carolina…Drudge’s major headline was: “CHICAGO FIGHTS MILITARIZATION.”
And so it goes with the Trump-hating MSM. No decency. No journalism. Just nonstop Trump Derangement.
By the way, President Trump himself appeared Monday morning at a hearing of the Religious Liberty Commission at Washington’s Museum of the Bible. I’m no Kreskin, but I’m willing to predict that rather than cover his actual remarks...TV networks will feature man-on-the-street interviews with bike messengers and street vendors in D.C. complaining that the gridlock caused by his visit inconvenienced them and depressed falafel sales at lunchtime.
