At 11:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, a singularly unfunny “comedian” named Jimmy Kimmel will return to ABC-TV…following the shortest “indefinite suspension” in the long history of American broadcasting.
His bosses at Disney/ABC pulled Kimmel off the air after he voiced outright lies and “insensitive” comments about the killer of late Salem Radio Network talk host Charlie Kirk…whose memorial service in Phoenix on Sunday drew hundreds of thousands of mourners paying their respects to the slain founder of Turning Point USA. (I’ve been on rides at Disney World which lasted longer that Kimmel’s “suspension”…something I will never do again, BTW. More on that later.)
The seats at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix hadn’t even been folded up when spineless Disney/ABC “executives” announced Monday that, well, nevermind: we got static from self-serving Hollywood loudmouths and whiners at MSNBC and CNN about “muzzling” an alleged comic so we caved. ABC’s Bob Iger: a tower of Jell-O.
Although I won’t be watching tonight—like most Americans didn’t prior to Kimmel’s “indefinite” suspension—my Spidey senses are tingling, and I predict this jerk will not only refuse to apologize for the pain he inflicted on Kirk’s amazing widow Erika but he’ll likely double-down on snarky, obnoxious attacks on either Charlie Kirk or MAGA or both. Real comedy, Disney style.
Disney ABC folding like a cheap suit portends other cowardice in the week ahead. In New York City, the Israel-hating United Nations will open its 80th General Assembly meeting; among the comedy highlights will be watching some of America’s “allies” like Great Britain, France and Australia bow the knee to formally recognize a so-called ‘Palestinian state’ in the Middle East. This makes diplomats from France, Australia and England the linear equivalent of Disney/ABC executives…as they hand Hamas a sweet victory.
Of course, there are adults in the room who push back against transgressors. For example, communications companies like Nexstar and Sinclair who responded to Kimmel’s lying and insensitivity by removing him from TV stations they operate and kicking him to the curb. Or Bibi Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister who ignored entreaties from the cowardly “international community” to refrain from responding militarily to Hamas’ now infamous sneak attacks on Israeli men, women and children two years ago on October 7th.
The "big dog” is also headed to the U.N.: President Donald J. Trump will address the General Assembly and ‘splain (as they say in Chicago) the facts of life: that the carnage and starvation in Gaza are not Israel’s fault but rather should be laid at the feet of Hamas killers. (I mention Chicago because—like people in Gaza who voted to have Hamas be their leaders, Chicagoans habitually vote for the Democratic Party. Result? The Windy City is today Gaza on the shores of Lake Michigan…with lousy schools, multiple ongoing shootings/killings weekly, and elected officials who reflexively blame Donald Trump but cry crocodile tears when the president offers to send federal troops to do the job they refuse to do themselves.)
Like the bombed-out residents in Gaza or disgracefully betrayed voters in Chicago, Americans have freedom to choose. For example:
*One might choose to do grocery shopping at a store that respects you and your precious time in their establishment…or you can choose to walk into a Walmart or a Target where oafs shoving oversized carts into you block the aisles while they fill “online orders,” making in-person shopping similar to trying to get a seat on the last troop carrier out of Afghanistan as Joe Biden fled with his tail between his legs. Choices.
*Also, one might tune in to deceptively misnamed news channels like the aforementioned CNN and MSNBC looking for objective truth…but instead be force-fed Democratic Party talking points by the likes of Kaitlan Collins or Jen Psaki or Ali Velshi. These are the kind of people who think Jimmy Kimmel getting a paid weekend off is on par with 31-year-old Charlie Kirk getting a high-powered bullet in his neck. Choices.
*Finally, with your discretionary vacation and entertainment dollars you could take your family to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., to spend hours exploring God’s word and enriching your lives. Or you could head to Disney World in Orlando…once “the Happiest Place on Earth” but now the 100 percent woke home of LGBTQ-friendly “cast members” including men wearing Disney Princess outfits, all the while enriching Disney/ABC execs who are inflicting the vile Jimmy Kimmel on America once again tonight.
I know what my choices will be. Do you?
