It’s open season on Jews in the US. Law enforcement will be there for you after the shooting/bombing/attack has ended.

When the bomb went off on King George Street, I did not hear a “boom”. Rather, I heard a rumbling sound like an approaching freight train, with smoke passing by me on either side. By the time I got up and saw the destruction behind me, I could not hear very well. Less than two minutes after the bombing, two YAMAM police commandos arrived and started to ask questions, which I could not hear. I realized then that Israel is really, really good after an attack: terrorists are caught or eliminated, networks are broken up, etc. The problem is beforehand: even if they are 97% successful at preventing attacks, people are still in danger.

One of the biggest problems the West has is that it doesn’t take too many people to ruin your anti-terror plans. In just a few weeks, a lefty lunatic from Chicago who was “radicalized” and an Egyptian illegal alien killed and wounded many Jews. And let’s not forget the torching a few months ago of the governor’s mansion in Pennsylvania, with the Jewish first family inside. In Colorado, they have already given the attacker a murder charge, though nobody has yet died. Maybe they are just pessimistic out there. So we return to the “lone wolf” problem, which both in the US and Europe generally but not exclusively involves “known individuals” picking up a gun or bomb and attacking a group of people. President Obama had the chutzpah to describe an intentional attack at a French kosher store as some guy “shooting up a deli”, trying to remove the antisemitic aspect of the attack. So, instead of thinking that Europe was watching a rerun of the Holocaust, it was sold as just some fellow whose order was cold or something.

Jews understand that it’s open season on them, and it does not matter what “type” of Jew you might be. The two Israeli embassy workers shot to death in Washington worked on peace ideas. The people burned in Colorado were marching for the hostages and did not have any anti-Palestinian agenda. No matter. The same is true in Israel and it was always true for the Nazis: any Jew should be a dead Jew, no questions about ideology asked. Most of those brutally murdered in southern Israel were pro-Palestinian state peaceniks. They used to demean the religious Jews who lived in Gaza before Israel yanked them from their homes. They claimed that the latter’s presence in Gaza was preventing two states and peace. I am afraid that they now know the truth, but it is too late.

Jews are buying guns and ammo. A non-Jewish friend of mine, a Harvard-trained SEAL, works with a California rabbi to teach Jews proper gun handling. I am proud of him and grateful for his efforts. A guy I know in the synagogue in Las Vegas, who actually sells weapons, told me that his biggest fear is that if something goes down, there will be crossfire in every direction. He is well-trained with the gun he keeps in his pocket; others are not so much.

There is no way that the police, FBI, DHS, or any other body can stop every potential anti-Jewish terrorist. What should have been done a long time ago is to stop the Qatari funding of Jew-hating groups that bankroll and support the endless anti-Israel protests. When people talk generically about “intifada revolution,” they mean killing Jews. When they say “from the river of the sea,” they mean 10 million dead Israelis to make way for Hamas and friends. When a group associated with Columbia had a seminar on how to “unlive” Zionists, nothing happened. They knew they would have been in big trouble if they had written “kill”. So they do some verbal gymnastics to hide behind the First Amendment. My brethren in the US had better wake up. Everyone should be assumed to be a potential enemy until proven otherwise. It does not take more than one person to lead to a tragedy, and there is no way that law enforcement can ever guarantee 100% protection. Those marching in Colorado have been doing so once a week for a long time, simply to keep the memory of and concern for the hostages front and center. They expected that an illegal alien Egyptian spouting the standard pro-Palestinian garbage would try to incinerate them? No more than I expected, a Palestinian policeman holding a bouquet of flowers would detonate a bomb right behind me and my son.

I do not doubt the sincerity of President Trump, his cabinet, and the leaders of the FBI and DoJ in their desire to protect Jewish citizens of the United States. I take their statements and quick actions to truly represent their honest feelings that they want all Americans, including Jews, to feel safe and to actually be safe. The problem is that many Western-hating Muslims have been imported into the US (forget Europe, as it is already lost; I am just waiting for Queen Fatima in 20 years). Qatar and Iran, and local organizations use them and their allies on the left to create a toxic, antisemitic environment behind a smokescreen of the First Amendment. If Israelis in the US demanded the murder of Arabs in the country by using euphemisms (“end the felafel eaters”), the program would be shut down immediately. Qatar, Iran and their US agents know how to play the freedoms and rights in America to put forth a program demanding the death of Jews. There have been two attacks in less than a month. How many more does the DoJ need before it deems the situation a crisis?

It’s a sad state of affairs for Jews in the United States. Growing up there, I never felt any threat or enmity. We felt American and welcomed into the fabric of the country. But the Obamas and Bidens chose sides—illegal aliens like the terrorist in Colorado and left/Islam—the forces behind the murders in the nation’s capital. Years ago, my wife and I had some business with the Israeli consulate in Chicago. When we left the office, we stumbled onto two young Israeli guys sleeping in a car outside: they were part of the protective detail. At that time, when you took off on an El-Al plane, a car would ride in parallel with armed Israeli officials who would accompany the flight until the end of the runway. Israelis always had to have their antennae up for haters and potential terrorists. Now, every American Jew has to do the same. American Jewry has lost its innocence. Now, it’s either us or them, and American Jews aren’t budging.
