When I say Democrats are the worst creatures around since we crawled out of the primordial ooze, I mean it as a compliment. While it may not sound like one, I am acknowledging that they are humans (or some close approximation thereof), which is about as nice about them as I’m likely to get without needing a Silkwood shower.
The left is a series of grave-dancers, actively seeking out tragedies to exploit to advance their various policy objectives while ignoring others because the victims are the wrong color or whatever. (Have I mentioned how gross they are? Because I meant to.) Schools, movie theaters, everywhere that is not a majority black city run by Democrats and the left is ready to grave dance till the Sun comes up.
Did I mention they’re gross?
But, for the first time I can remember, rather than dance on the graves of, and try to raise money off the deaths of humans, Democrats are trying to do it off puppets. Well, “Sesame Street,” anyway, not Muppets.
It strikes me that, if PBS and NPR are so damned important to so many people Democrats are pretending to care about, shouldn’t they encourage their supporters to consider buying a tote bag or two, or maybe a full set of Rick Steves DVDs? That would make sense and would help the people Democrats claim to “defend” from not having access to crop reports or whatever, but they aren’t. They’re asking for money for them on the graves of PBS and NPR.
“The fight to save public broadcasting ISN’T over,” reads the subject line of a fundraising email from the radical leftist 314 Action Fund. “For the first time in more than half a century, Congress has zeroed out Federal funding for public broadcasting, which will bankrupt small broadcasters, shutter local programs in rural areas, and end some emergency alerts in remote regions. But with a major budget fight approaching ahead of the September government funding deadline, we wanted to ask: Do you want to see Democrats FIGHT to restore funding for public broadcasting?”
No, I don’t. Screw them. But that wasn’t an option in their “survey,” oddly enough.
“Public broadcasting is as American as apple pie or football,” they say. “Nearly 70% of Americans support Federal funding for public broadcasting – like local radio and television stations – and it barely costs the average American just $1.60 per year in tax revenue. That's roughly 13 cents per month.”
It’s so cheap, why not just ask their donors to give $5 to them and keep them in business forever?
That’s not the grift; it’s about getting money for themselves and getting votes for Democrats.
Have you noticed how Democrats have basically stopped screaming about how the “One Big Beautiful Bill” is going to kill millions of Americans? That’s all they said before passage – noun, verb, “people are going to die because of that” – but now that it is law, they’ve weirdly gone silent. Do they not care about those people who are dying already? No, it’s not possible to really care about people who never existed.
Their bluff was called, they lost and moved on. Makes you question the sincerity of their outrage at the time, doesn’t it? It’s almost like they didn’t mean any of it.
Of course, they never did mean it, it was always all performance art.
The saddest part is so many of our fellow Americans don’t realize it; they fall for the political equivalent of “the stripper really likes me, she’s not just trying to get my money” mentality that plagues everyone who mastered origami so they could fold a dollar bill down to the size of a dime for those strip club occasions.
Nothing is going to stop Democrats from their doom dancing, their grief whoring, or their general state of awfulness. All we can do is expose it, call and point it out, and hope against hope that some of their base will open their damn eyes and finally see what they’ve been conned into supporting. It’s unlikely to happen if it hasn’t happened already, but we can try, right?
