On June 14th we witnessed a truly grand American spectacle, one that all Americans could have taken pride in. The United States Army celebrated its 250th year of service to the nation in a massive parade of soldiers and military might on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. The National Mall was full of patriotic Americans who were there to show their support for the Army that has done so much over the years to answer the call, and to protect our nation in both times of peace, and war.
Constitution Avenue was a fitting place to host this parade since protecting and defending the Constitution is what the U.S. Army has faithfully done since even before the Constitution was drafted, ratified, and eventually signed into law as the guiding document of the United States of America, on March 4, 1789. That duty is included in the oath each soldier takes when entering the service, “To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic”.
There are cynics out there who will complain that the money spent on this parade could have been better spent elsewhere. Such as providing Medicaid and Medicare for the millions of illegal aliens who were welcomed into our country by the Biden Administration. Some are pointing out that the money could have gone to reducing the national debt. The amount spent is an insignificant amount when it comes to the positive benefit derived, and barely impacts our burdensome national debt.
I sincerely doubt that the soldiers who participated in the parade would agree that the money should have been spent elsewhere. You see, they know that the blood, sweat, and tears the Army has paid over the last 250 years protecting this country far exceeds the measly sum spent on this parade. This parade was a fitting way for Americans to pay them back and honor their service and sacrifice. It was money well spent.
As has been their custom over the last number of years, the Democrat Party completely missed the opportunity to show the country, and the world that our nation is unified in its support of our warfighters. Democrats chose instead to show support for ANTIFA and other leftist-anarchist groups, along with illegal aliens who are trashing American cities and calling for the overthrow of our government, and imposing communism onto Americans.

Only one Democrat, Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, recognized the importance of supporting and honoring our military, and putting political differences aside for one day. Not just a politically astute move, but it was just the right thing to do. Very possibly also guaranteeing his reelection next time he runs. The rest of the party acted like spoiled rotten little children throwing a tantrum because they didn’t get invited to the party.
I’m actually thankful that the Democrats are so overcome with hatred for President Trump, not to mention his supporters, and so politically inept that it will certainly help to guarantee that the Democrat Party will eventually end up on the “ash heap of history”. To quote former President Ronald Reagan when he predicted the same fate for the Soviet Union. One might say, ‘birds of a feather’ when comparing Soviet Russia with today’s Democrat Party.
Just days after the parade honoring the United States Army, Democrat Congresswoman, and ‘brother spouse’ Ilhan Omar declared that the United States was one of the worst countries in the world. Simply because REAL Americans wanted to recognize our service members with a parade of American military might, and of the dedicated men and women who serve in the Army. My suggestion to Ms. Omar, I hear Mogadishu is nice this time of year.
Of course Ms. Omar is just following Democrat tradition. It was Democrat Senator Dick Durbin who once compared the American military in Guantanamo Bay with “Nazi Germany, the Soviet gulag, and Pol Pot”. It seems enmity and disrespect go hand in hand in the Democrat Party when talking about our military.
Fortunately the Democrat Party’s true colors are being revealed to Americans daily with their outrageous displays, like making ‘causes’ out of criminal illegal alien gang bangers, and hurling insults at our Armed Forces. And then there’s always Jasmine Crockett and AOC commenting on just about anything.
While President Trump and Republicans fight to defend our nation, and show the respect and appreciation that our military deserves.
