New Yorkers, beware. The storm isn’t coming - it’s already here. If the latest polls are accurate, Zohran Mamdani is on track to become your next mayor. And with him will come a radical agenda that will drain your paychecks, handcuff your police, and destroy your city’s future. This isn’t a partisan spin. It’s a warning from someone who once called New York home and now leads a city that’s thriving because we did the opposite of what Mamdani preaches. I’ve seen what good leadership builds - and how quickly bad policy can tear it down.

The Radical Blueprint for Collapse

Mamdani wraps his agenda in words like “equity” and “fairness.” But peel back the packaging, and it’s a socialist wish list that would make AOC blush. His tax plan would push marginal rates up to 17 percent, leaving New York as one of the least competitive places to do business. That’s not a plan for growth; that’s a tax exit strategy for job creators.

His promises of “free” transportation for all rest on billions in speculative spending with no credible source of revenue, a blank check written on the backs of working families.

His housing proposals lean on aggressive rent control schemes that may sound compassionate but inevitably choke off supply, stall new construction, and push middle-class families further away from the city they love.

And when it comes to crime, Mamdani’s instincts are clear: weaken law enforcement, embolden offenders, and pretend the consequences don’t exist.

This is the same playbook that’s turned once-great cities into cautionary tales. Venezuela promised utopia. San Francisco promised compassion. Both ended up chasing away the very people who built them.

We Choose Freedom - And It Works

In Boca Raton, we’ve done the opposite, and it shows. We’ve lowered our tax rate and have the lowest property tax rate of any full-service city in Florida – a state with no income taxes. Government should make it easier for families and businesses to succeed, not harder.

Our city of 100,000 residents has invested in public safety, paying our officers among the highest starting salaries in the nation, and the results are clear: crime rates far below the national average and a community that feels secure.

In the heart of South Florida, we’ve expanded housing options by creating incentives that actually bring new units online, instead of policies that will stymie growth.

We have cut red tape with more than twenty initiatives to make it easier to join our thriving ecosystem of more than 40 publicly traded corporate headquarters and 14,000 businesses.

None of this happened by accident. It comes from leadership and a culture that values opportunity, fiscal discipline, and measures success by outcomes people can see in their daily lives. Thriving schools, expanding businesses, and safe neighborhoods aren’t mere slogans; rather, they are the result of decisions made with discipline and focus.

As special as Boca Raton is, we are not alone in a better approach. As chair of the America First Policy Institute Mayors’ Council, I am honored to work with mayors from across the nation who value common-sense policies and are sharing ideas on how we can take recent gains in efficiency from Washington and implement them on Main Street.

Leadership matters. When leadership is strong, cities thrive. When it’s weak, they falter. Boca Raton shows what’s possible when leaders put results first. Mamdani, by contrast, is offering promises that sound appealing, but like every utopian promise of socialism, they collapse under the weight of reality.

What’s at Stake for New York

New York has always been a global city, with unmatched energy and ambition. But that greatness is fragile. Raise taxes, and entrepreneurs leave. Ignore public safety, and families lose confidence. Strangle housing supply, and affordability worsens.

This isn’t speculation. It’s the record of cities that have embraced the same policies Mamdani is now championing. The results are always the same: fewer opportunities, more flight, and diminished futures. A city cannot have a healthy economy by driving out the job creators, entrepreneurs, and workers who make it possible.

A Final Warning

The red flag is already raised. If the polls hold, New York is about to elect a mayor whose ideas will devastate the city.

Cities have two choices: reward work or punish it. Protect families or abandon them. Embrace freedom or slide to socialism.

Mamdani’s New York would be the latter -and it’s a recipe for decline.

So, New Yorkers, take this as your fair warning: start planning your escape now.  Countless other businesses are underway with plans to leave. Don’t get left behind.

Our community of Boca Raton is proof that another way is possible - a place where businesses thrive, streets are safe, and families keep more of what they earn.
