President Trump went there again.
This time, he accused Minnesota’s far-left Democrat Ilhan Omar — nearly booted from her committee assignment this week because of her nasty attack on assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk — of immigration fraud.
More than that, he openly asked Omar whether she knew the eight defendants charged in an astoundingly brazen Medicaid fraud scheme in Minnesota.
Whether that means the FBI will restart or continue the investigation into Omar’s activities — a probe disclosed five years ago when it was revealed that Omar married her brother to commit immigration fraud — is unclear.
Trump’s zinger came a day after four renegade Republicans voted to keep Omar on all her committees. The 214-213 tally tabled a motion from GOP Representative Nancy Mace (S.C.) that would have punished the leftist congresswoman.
The resolution cited an interview Omar conducted with far-left journalist Mehdi Hasan, and a hate-Kirk video that viciously attacked Kirk, calling him “reprehensible,” a “stochastic terrorist,” and an “adamant transphobe” who “believed in the subjugation of women and with his last dying words he was spewing racist dog whistles.”
“Charlie Kirk was Doctor Frankenstein, and his monster shot him through the neck,” the video said.
Yesterday, Trump went to work.
“Ilhan Omar’s Country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent Poverty, Hunger, Resurgent Terrorism, Piracy, decades of Civil War, Corruption, and pervasive Violence,” he wrote on Truth Social:
70% of the population lives in extreme Poverty, and widespread Food Insecurity. Somalia is consistently ranked among the World’s Most Corrupt Countries, including Bribery, Embezzlement, and a Dysfunctional Government. All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America! P.S. Wasn’t she the one that married her brother in order to gain Citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our Country, telling us what to do, and how to do it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
But Trump didn’t stop there.
Over a post from Libs of TikTok that reprised the Medicaid fraud charges, Trump asked a question:
Does Ilhan Omar know these people? Are they from her wonderfully managed Home Country of Somalia?
“The level of fraud in these programs is staggering … these programs have been abused over and over to the point where fraud has overtaken the legitimate services,” U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said.
The immigration fraud allegations against Omar arise from her shady marital past.
As The New American reported in February 2020, the Somali agent of influence married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British subject. Abdihakim Osman, a Somali community leader in Minneapolis, confirmed the marriage and told the Daily Mail that Omar admitted she would “do what she had to do to get [Elmi] ‘papers’ to keep him in [the] U.S.”
As well, Osman told the Mail, “she said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers to allow him to stay in this country.”
That would mean Omar, who denies the consanguineous marriage, committed student-loan fraud. That is another suspicion among those who’ve looked into her shady past.
In January that year, the New York Post reported that “two FBI agents held an hours-long meeting in Minnesota in mid-October with a concerned party who handed over a trove of documents regarding Omar’s 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a source with knowledge of the event said.”
Nothing, apparently, came of that investigation, which the Biden administration certainly would have squelched.
The question now is whether Trump will order the FBI to reopen it. If so, Omar could be in much bigger trouble than merely facing the loss of committee assignments.
