President-elect Donald Trump announced earlier today that Karoline Leavitt will serve as White House Press Secretary in his second administration, stating in a Trump-Vance transition press release:

Mar-a-Lago, Florida — Today, the 45th and 47th President of the United States Donald J. Trump announced that Karoline Leavitt will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline was the Trump Campaign National Press Secretary and previously served in the Trump White House as Assistant Press Secretary.

“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again.”

After working in the correspondence office under former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany during the first Trump administration, Leavitt ran to represent New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in 2022, at the age of 25. Representative Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) won the election receiving 54.0 percent (167,391 votes), and Leavitt receiving 45.9 percent (142,229 votes).

In response to Trump’s announcement, Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) congratulated Leavitt, noting she will be the youngest White House Press Secretary in modern history, stating in a post on X:

Congratulations to my friend Karoline Leavitt on being the youngest Press Secretary in modern history & the first Gen Z Press Secretary in the White House! You’re going to do an incredible job!
