Far-left Democrats are tickled pink that radical Islamic socialist Zohran Mamdani beat former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in yesterday’s Big Apple mayoral primary.

Indeed, top Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), are apparently not concerned about Mamdani’s obviously crazed views and plans, including arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he visit New York.

The victory means Mamdani will almost certainly become the next mayor.

Mamdani is an Indian Muslim from Uganda who was naturalized in 2018. He takes his middle name, Kwame, from Ghanian communist Kwame Nkrumah. Added to that problematic past are his views, notably those on immigration. Not surprisingly, he is a hate-Trump, open-borders nut.

He vows to “Trump-proof” New York City by making it “the strongest sanctuary city in the country,” his website says. He will “get ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] out of all City facilities and end any cooperation” with them, and “will increase funding for immigration legal services to provide representation for people and communities targeted by mass deportation.”

Mamdani is also, of course, for “transgender rights.” Other plans of his include freezing rent, “free” child care, “free” public transportation, and a minimum wage of $30 per hour.

Also of concern is whether Mamdani thinks he is a dictator.

In December, former MSNBC talker Mehdi Hasan asked Mamdani whether he would “welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu to New York City for the — for whatever he comes for — given the U.S. is not a signatory to the ICC [International Criminal Court], so he can travel to the U.S., unlike a lot of other countries? Would a Mayor Mamdani welcome Benjamin Netanyahu to this city?”

“No,” the hate-Israel Muslim replied. “As mayor, New York City would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu. This is a city that our values are in line with international law. It’s time that our actions are also.”

So in Mamdani’s New York, international law will supersede U.S. law. His comment was not a one-off. He repeated the threat in front of a Jewish audience at a synagogue, Fox News reported:

In a speech earlier this month at the B’nai Jeshurun synagogue in Manhattan, Mamdani appeared to double down on his position that he would arrest Netanyahu as mayor.

“My answer is the same whether we are speaking about Vladimir Putin or Netanyahu. I think that this should be a city that is in compliance with international law,” Mamdani said. “And we have seen other countries across the world that are signatories of the ICC that they would honor that same request, being Canada or other countries in Europe, and their honoring of it meant that Netanyahu did not travel there.”

Such remarks have not deterred leading Democrats from marching under his banderole.

Among the Democratic bright lights who endorse him are bazillionaire socialist Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, former mixologist and U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, the subject of a bar complaint and criminal referral to the Justice Department in connection with decades of mortgage fraud.

“Your dedication to an affordable, welcoming, and safe New York City where working families can have a shot has inspired people across the city,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote about Mamdani on X:

Billionaires and lobbyists poured millions against you and our public finance system.

And you won.

Also happy is House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, also of New York.

Then there’s Schumer, who is Jewish:

I have known @ZohranKMamdani since we worked together to provide debt relief for thousands of beleaguered taxi drivers & fought to stop a fracked gas plant in Astoria. He ran an impressive campaign that connected with New Yorkers about affordability, fairness, & opportunity.

Whether Schumer agrees with Mamdani on arresting Netanyahu or that Israel is perpetrating genocide in the Gaza Strip is unknown.

Representative Jerry Nadler of New York, also Jewish, is a Mamdani fangirl, too, The New York Times reported. Said Nadler, “voters in New York City demanded change and, with Zohran’s triumph, we have a direct repudiation of Donald Trump’s politics of tax cuts and authoritarianism.”

Conservatives on X observed the obvious: Mamdani is the result of unrestricted immigration.

“The commentary about NYC Democrats nominating an anarchist-socialist for Mayor omits one point: how unchecked migration fundamentally remade the NYC electorate,” White House aide Stephen Miller wrote. “Democrats change politics by changing voters. That’s how you turn a city that defined US dominance into what it is now.”

“The [Senate Democratic leader] just endorsed the socialist who wants to abolish ICE and release all the prisoners,” Miller continued over Schumer’s post.

Human Events’ Jack Posobiec, noted that a “foreign-born Muslim” defeated Cuomo. “Are we allowed to talk about mass immigration now?” he asked.

Commentator Charlie Kirk observed that Mamdani changes his accent to suit his audience, then added this after Mamdani’s victory: “24 years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11. Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.”

GOP City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino landed in hot water in early June for writing that Mamdani should be deported.

“Let’s just talk about how insane it is to elect someone to any major office who hasn’t even been a US citizen for ten years — much less a radical leftist who actually hates everything about the country and is here specifically to undermine everything we’ve ever been about,” she wrote.

The Times fretted that Paladino was “decidedly unapologetic” about the comment. She was so unapologetic, the newspaper noted, that she reposted the New York Young Republican Club’s answer to Mamdani’s whining about her post:

@ZohranKMamdani is right: no one should be calling for his deportation!

We shouldn’t have to. He shouldn’t have been allowed into the United States in the first place.

It’s not too late to remigrate him and his anti-American ilk.
