The evidence is clear: Illegal aliens and their backers, including elected officials, are waging all-out war on federal immigration agents and other officials.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released data to Breitbart News showing that assaults in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have increased 500 percent.
The uptick includes attacks on agents, authorities allege, by U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey and New York City comptroller Brad Lander. Also involved in a scuffle with federal agents was U.S. Senator Alex Padilla of California. All are far-left Democrats.
Meanwhile, police allege that a dangerous Salvadoran illegal attempted to murder a federal prosecutor.
Pointing to the story at Breitbart, DHS spokesman Tricia McLaughlin said the agency “released new data revealing ICE law enforcement is now facing a 500% increase in assaults against them while carrying out enforcement operations.”
McLaughlin pointed to the arrest of an illegal-alien child molester in far-left Democratic Governor Tim Walz’s Minnesota.
As The New American reported yesterday, ICE collared Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a Mexican child molester, who dragged an ICE officer 50 yards trying to flee from arrest.
“During a traffic stop, Munoz-Guatemala refused to exit his vehicle,” DHS reported:
He tried to flee law enforcement and put his car in drive while the ICE officer still had his arm inside the vehicle, dragging the officer approximately 50 yards. This criminal illegal alien has been arrested and is in federal custody.
Munoz-Guatamala’s rap sheet is 15 years long.
But illegals such as Munoz-Guatemala aren’t the sole problem.
“Make no mistake, sanctuary politicians are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” DHS wrote on X.
McLaughlin elaborated in a news release:
Democrat politicians like [New York Rep.] Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor [Michelle] Wu of Boston, Governor Tim Walz, and Mayor [Karen] Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE. From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi Gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is despicable. This violence against ICE must end.
Disturbingly, in recent days, ICE officers’ family members have been doxed and targeted as well. Those who dox our ICE agents will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Yet illegals, again, aren’t the only culprits who attack ICE agents.
Three days ago, Big Apple comptroller Brad Lander locked arms with an illegal whom agents were trying to arrest at an immigration court in Manhattan. Lander, the city’s top bean counter, demanded to see a “judicial warrant” before releasing the illegal.
Instead of receiving the warrant, he was arrested for assault. Video of the ruckus clearly shows that Lander violently attempted to block agents from arresting the illegal.
And last week, far-left Democratic Senator Alex Padilla of California interrupted DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s presser at a federal building in Los Angeles by shouting questions while she was speaking. Noem’s security detail, which included FBI and Secret Service agents, surrounded and tried to subdue him. Padilla fought back. Agents took him from the room, forced him to the ground, and handcuffed him.
Padilla claims he identified himself, although video shows him identifying himself only when agents try to remove him from the room. He wasn’t wearing his Senate security pin.
But Lander and Padilla were merely aping LaMonica McIver, who rumbled with ICE agents outside an illegal-alien detention facility in New Jersey. A federal grand jury indicted the congresswoman on three counts of assaulting federal agents.
But at least those officials didn’t attempt to murder an ICE agent. Police allege that a Salvadoran illegal, Saul Morales-Garcia, tried to murder John A. Sarcone III, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York.
The Salvadoran thug lunged at Sarcone with a knife, DHS reported. He, like the goon who tried to escape the ICE agent in Minnesota, has compiled quite the criminal resumé.
In 2009, a court in Arlington County, Virginia, convicted him of misdemeanor petit larceny and sentenced him to 12 months in the county jail, DHS reported. In 2010, ICE deported him after an immigration judge ordered him to be removed.
He jumped the border again between his deportation and December 10, 2021.
Sheriff’s deputies in Monroe County, Georgia, arrested him for drunk driving in 2021, and in 2023, U.S. Park Police collared him. They charged the recalcitrant thug with “disorderly conduct for physically threatening, being drunk in public and possession of an open container,” DHS reported.
Last year, cops in Upper Marion, Pennsylvania, charged him with misdemeanor retail theft.
Not helping the situation for agents is flat-out lies about ICE and its activities.
“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,” the Los Angeles Dodgers X feed reported yesterday. “They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.”
Replied ICE: “False. We were never there.”
Another lie about ICE came from the far-left mayor of Ventura, California. Doug Halter described the enforcement of federal immigration laws as “terrorism.”
Another serious problem is doxing. Freddie O’Connell, the far-left Democratic mayor of Nashville, doxed ICE agents on the city’s website.
“They claimed it was a mistake,” DHS’s McLaughlin said:
There’s zero chance it was a mistake, and there will be repercussions. Our ICE enforcement officers are already facing a 400-percent increase in assaults against them. And he’s essentially handing over intelligence to these criminal gangs so that they can target our ICE enforcement officials. It’s wrong and it’s beneath the city of Nashville, and I hope he will face consequences.
Now that increase is 500 percent.
