The fallout from the vehicular homicide of three Americans by an Indian illegal alien continued today.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, whose motor vehicles agency gave Harjinder Singh a commercial driver’s license (CDL) despite his inability to understand English, offered more false claims about the case, including the charges against the illegal alien.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio suspended work visas for foreign truck drivers.

And sadly enough, in a related story, Angolan illegals recently mowed down two people in Maine, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported today.

On August 14, Singh made an illegal U-turn in his 18-wheeler from the right northbound lane on the Florida Turnpike near Fort Pierce. A sign told motorists that U-turns are allowed for “official use only.”

Video shows a Chrysler minivan plowing into the trailer. Two passengers were killed instantly, and the driver died later at the hospital.

Trying to cover his state’s egregious and indeed fatal error in giving Singh the CDL, Newsom attempted to blame the Trump administration for giving him a work permit.

In fact, the Biden administration gave him a work permit, reported DHS spokesman Tricia McLaughlin.

Today, Newsom tried peddling more falsehoods.

“Florida let a murder suspect walk, California police had to step in and arrest him, and now Florida’s new [lieutenant governor] is staging a photo op to pick him up,” Newsom wrote on X:

Meatball Ron [DeSantis] (who lost to Mickey Mouse) is now proving that California’s so-called “sanctuary” laws actually work. Thanks, Governor!

FACTS:

– Entered this country in 2018 under Trump.

– Received a federal Employment Authorization (work permit).

– Reissued a federal Employment Authorization (work permit) on 4/9/2025 — during the second Trump administration.

As McLaughlin noted, Singh was slated for deportation until he claimed fear of persecution if he were returned home.

But beyond that, Singh is not charged with “murder,” and “California cops” didn’t arrest him. Fox News’ Bill Melugin noted:

He’s not a murder suspect. It’s a vehicular homicide case.

California didn’t arrest him — US Marshals did.

And if the Trump administration did reissue Singh’s work permit, it would have followed what Biden did, presumably because Sleepy Joe’s people would have vetted him. In fact, that didn’t happen. Nor did Newsom’s California or Governor Bob Ferguson’s Washington state vet the Indian illegal.

Both issued CDLs despite Singh’s illiteracy.

As the U.S. Transportation Department revealed, during the post-crash probe, Singh “failed the [English Language Proficiency] assessment, providing correct responses to just 2 of 12 verbal questions and only accurately identifying 1 of 4 highway traffic signs.”

The obvious question is why Singh was in the country. Further, how did an illegal alien who can’t speak English get a CDL?

On September 20, 2018, Singh jumped the border near San Ysidro, California, and was quickly arrested. He “was served with an I-860 and processed as an Expedited Removal with Credible Fear,” Melugin reported. There followed this sequence of events that would prove fatal:

On December 26, 2018, [U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS] issued a positive fear finding and issued a Notice to Appear (NTA).

On January 10, 2019, an Immigration Judge (IJ) sets a bond, in the amount of $5,000.00.

On January 11, 2019, an obligor posts bond.

On July 29, 2020, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) re-calendars hearing to April 5, 2021, at Seattle, Washington.

On September 3, 2024, an IJ grants Change of Venue (COV), from Seattle to San Francisco, California.

On August 16, 2025, [Enforcement and Removal Operations in] San Francisco placed an I-247A Immigration Detainer for Singh, with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, in French Camp, CA.

Illegals often concoct false claims of fear and persecution on returning home to stay here indefinitely as their cases pass through the immigration bureaucracy. That doesn’t excuse President Donald Trump’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for stupidly permitting Singh to stay. But it does explain it.

Now, thanks to Singh, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has blocked visas to immigrant truck drivers.

“Effective immediately we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers,” Rubio announced on X:

The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers.

As The New American reported about illegal-alien truckers, a writer at trucker’s blog explained how illegals game the immigration system to stay in the country, then get a CDL.

The danger that illegal aliens present on American roads, however, isn’t limited to truck drivers.

Two Angolan illegals killed two pedestrians in Maine last week. “Both illegal aliens overstayed B-2 tourist visas and have been arrested by ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcment],” DHS reported:

On August 16, Mukendi Mbiya hit Stacy Strattard, 64, with his car while she was crossing the street in New Gloucester — tragically killing her at the scene.

Having entered the United States on a tourist visa on December 23, 2018, Mbiya was supposed to depart the United States on June 22, 2019. ICE arrested the vehicular homicide suspect on Monday.

On August 15, police allege, Lionel Francisco mowed down Elizabeth Camacho, 74, in a park. He was driving on a learner’s permit. Frighteningly, “the local jurisdiction is not pursuing any criminal charges despite the death of an innocent American.”

Francisco landed here on a tourist visa on January 31. Departure date: July 30. ICE collared him on August 15.

For some reason, Maine issues driver’s licenses to foreigners with documents that show they are legally in the country, including “asylum seekers.”

“Francisco’s passenger was also an illegal alien,” The Maine Wire’s Steve Robinson reported. “Wilson Antonio Pedro, 34, is also in ICE custody headed back to Angola.”

In other news, Angolans, for some reason, show an abiding interest in touring Maine.
