California’s far-left Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and state Senator Scott Wiener believe they can stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies from enforcing federal immigration laws.

Newsom claims that Trump’s latest order for ICE to focus on Democrat-controlled illegal-alien sanctuary cities is “illegal.” Wiener will sponsor an unenforceable law that would forbid ICE and other federal agents from wearing masks when they arrest illegals.

Both men, apparently, are given to fantasies that they can either block the government from enforcing the law and/or control federal law enforcement.

Writing on X last night, Trump explained that “violence, harassment, and even threats from Radical Democrat Politicians” will not “stop us from executing our mission, and fulfilling our Mandate to the American People.”

That mandate was mass deportations, starting with illegal-alien rapists, murderers, and other criminals of the kind recently arrested in Los Angeles.

“We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside,” Trump wrote:

These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens. These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities — And they are doing a good job of it!

Unfazed by what illegal immigration has done to his state and capital city, Newsom vowed resistance. “[Trump’s] plan is clear: Incite violence and chaos in blue states, have an excuse to militarize our cities, demonize his opponents, keep breaking the law and consolidate power,” he wrote. “It’s illegal and we will not let it stand.”

Unclear is what Newsom doesn’t want to let stand. When the riots in Los Angeles began, ICE and other federal agents were serving criminal warrants on a business that evaded paying tariffs, employed at least 40 illegal aliens, and had ties to Mexican and Colombia cartels.

Protesters tried to stop those arrests.

And during targeted enforcement operations in the city between June 6 and June 11, federal agents arrested 330 illegals, more than half of whom had criminal convictions. One of those arrested was an illegal alien who tossed a Molotov cocktail at cops.

Why Newsom thinks arresting these illegals is unlawful is a mystery.

Wrote White House aide Stephen Miller:

You run a Sanctuary State that illegally harbors foreign terrorists and willfully perpetuates a criminal invasion of the United States. The government of California does not recognize, but willfully and maliciously abrogates, the supremacy of federal and constitutional [immigration] law.

In keeping with the spirit of Newsom’s claims, Wiener — who supports grooming children for abuse by homosexuals like himself — announced the No Secret Police Act that would “ban local/state/federal law enforcement, w/ some exceptions, from covering their faces when interacting w/ the public & require them to wear identifying info,” he wrote on X:

We’re seeing the rise of secret police — masked, no identifying info, even wearing army fatigues — grabbing & disappearing people.

It’s antithetical to democracy & harms communities.

The No Secret Police Act can help end the fear & chaos this behavior creates in communities.

Agents wear the masks to protect their identities and their families, which means Wiener’s object is to subject them to doxing by his far-left allies. Their hope is that the highly organized anarchist-communist street army unleashed in Los Angeles will target agents and their families.

That was the goal of far-left Nashville, Tennessee, Mayor Freddie O’Connell. He thought doxing ICE agents on his city’s website was a good idea.

Tricia McLaughlin, spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), pointed to the doxing, saying:

It looks like Mayor O’Connell was involved in some sort of obstruction or the harboring of criminal illegal aliens….

They claimed it was a mistake. There’s zero chance it was a mistake, and there will be repercussions.… [O’Connell’s] essentially handing over intelligence to these criminal gangs so that they can target our ICE enforcement officials. It’s wrong and it’s beneath the city of Nashville, and I hope he will face consequences.

ICE and other federal agents have “a dangerous job to do and are being doxed every day across this country,” border czar Tom Homan explained:

I’ve experienced [it] myself a hundred times. I’m willing to take that because of the position I hold.… We’re not running a popularity contest. We’re trying to enforce the laws enacted by Congress and do it in a smart, effective way.

DHS has repeatedly noted that assaults against ICE agents have increased more than 400 percent.

“When our heroic law enforcement officers conduct operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement while wearing masks to protect themselves from being targeted by known and suspected gang members, murderers, and rapists,” the agency replied when far-left Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston likened ICE agents to Nazis because they wear masks: 

Attacks and demonization of our brave law enforcement is WRONG. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.

ICE agents also wear masks for fear of far-left or cartel retaliation against their families, officials have said.
