Tens of thousands are arriving in Washington D.C. today to demonstrate against the rise in antisemitism in the aftermath of the terror attacks in Israel on October 7. The march in support for Israel takes place as the war in Gaza enters its sixth week. The international community is also demonstrating in support for Israel, with more than 180,000 people marching in France on Sunday.

The pro-Israel demonstrations are in response to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that have been calling for a ceasefire over the last six weeks. One person participating in the march, Tahl Ben-Yehuda, is asking for the release of two members of her family who are among the estimated 239 people being held hostage by Hamas. Ben-Yehuda said, “Israel is living right now with an existential threat. It is simply not okay to let 240 people be held as hostages. The world needs to rise.”

In the last month, the ADL has reported 832 antisemitic incidents, with 30 of those reported incidents being assault, a 316 percent increase in the United States.
