Far-left Democratic Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and equally far-left Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz aren’t the only top party members who apparently hope a few Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are taken out. One more is the small-town vice mayor who invited Hispanic gangs to fight the agents.
And now another party panjandrum can be added to the list. Count in Democratic Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington, an Indian immigrant whose office on Capitol Hill, staffers have said, is a Dickensian sweat shop.
She thinks ICE agents are “terrorists,” yet another label that might just get one of them killed. And, she said, she doesn’t regret saying it.
An immigrant from Chennai, India, Jayapal naturally sides with illegal aliens. After all, she bragged about bringing a gang of them into the country.
Now that President Trump is rounding up illegals and deporting them, notably illegal-alien rapists, murderers, and terror suspects, Jayapal is hotter than a bowl of curry.
“ICE is acting like a terrorist force,” she wrote on X:
People across the country of all legal statuses — including U.S. citizens — are being kidnapped and disappeared off the street by masked men.
No oversight, no accountability. Completely lawless.
She also posted the defamation on Instagram.
Understandably, acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons stood by his agents.
“An actual Antifa terrorist tried to blow up ICE’s Northwest Processing Center in Rep. Jayapal’s home state of Washington in 2019,” he said:
At the time, she tried to blame the violent attack on rhetoric from the right, in defense of an actual terrorist who tried to murder detainees and employees alike!
Now, she labels ICE officers enforcing immigration law set by Congress “terrorists.” This, at a time when officers are facing a nearly 700% increase in assaults, in part due to the type of rhetoric she spews. Never in a million years did I think I would witness a sitting member of Congress prioritize regard for violent criminals over the law enforcement officers protecting her community from actual public safety threats. The only apology needed is from the congresswoman to the people who voted for her.
White House spokesman Abigail Jackson said much the same thing:
Dangerous smears by deranged leftists like Jayapal radicalize their supporters to violently attack and obstruct federal law enforcement. Because of comments like Jayapal’s, assaults against ICE agents have increased by 500% this year. And that number will go even higher if Jayapal doesn’t stop with her smears.
Jayapal answered on hate-Trump CNN:
What is deranged and cruel and outrageous is that, literally, we are seeing ICE agents — I assume they‘re ICE agents — they say they are. They don‘t have any identification. They‘re wearing masks. They‘re in plain clothes. They are coming and kidnapping and disappearing people on the streets of the United States.
As border czar Tom Homan noted, ICE agents wear masks because radicals such as far-left Democratic Mayor Freddie O’Connell of Nashville are doxing them.
Continued Jayapal:
I never in a million years thought that that is something that I would see here in America. And so, I think it is the administration that has to apologize to U.S. citizens that have been rounded up. To legal, permanent residents, to people with legal statuses across the country who are getting swept up, people who have been here for 20 years and committed absolutely no crimes, getting swept up by masked men who are kidnapping them and deporting them. …
It is absolutely terrorizing people. … The White House owes an apology to the American people for what they are doing.
Strangely, many Americans never in a million years thought Indian and other immigrants would be in Congress, telling Americans what it means to be an American. That aside, another immigrant upset about ICE is Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, a radical Somali refugee.
A confessed agent of foreign influence for her home country, Omar is upset that the “Big Beautiful Bill” that passed the U.S. House of Representatives provides $150 billion for immigration enforcement.
Omar also thinks the Alien Enemies Act signed by President John Adams, and which President Trump is using to deport Venezuelan terrorists, is “un-American,” an opinion that can be safely ignored.
No wonder she dreams about living in Somalia again.
Anyway, top Democrats do appear to favor violence against ICE agents.
“I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks,” Boston’s Wu said. “We know that there are other groups that routinely wear masks. NSC-131 routinely wears masks.”
NSC-131 is a neo-Nazi outfit.
For his part, Walz — a former National Guard sergeant who abandoned his troops when they deployed to Iraq — thinks ICE agents are comparable to the Gestapo, the Nazi secret police.
“Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets,” said the man known as Tampon Tim:
They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons, no chance to mount a defense, not even a chance to kiss a loved one goodbye, just grabbed up by masked agents, shoved into those vans, and disappeared.
Perhaps more frighteningly, the vice mayor of Cudahy, California, Cynthia Gonzalez, recently posted a message to two Hispanics gangs in her area. In a crazy video, she encouraged the 18th Street and Florencia 13 gangs to attack ICE agents in a crazy video. Despite that ironclad evidence, though, she later claimed she did no such thing.
As for Jayapal, she is well known for incendiary hate speech.
In 2019, she said that President Trump’s “ultimate goal is to make America pure in the sense of not having immigrants, not having folks of color here and shutting down every form of legal immigration, all to throw a bone to those people.”
Maybe, but Jayapal is no angel herself. Fourteen former staffers told Buzzfeed that her office was “a dysfunctional and volatile workplace.”
“I’ve worked in bad environments before, and I have worked in some awful environments before for some awful people. I’ve been colleagues with some awful people,” one staffer told the website. “I have never worked in a place that has made me so miserable and so not excited for public service as Pramila Jayapal’s office.”
One might conclude that Jayapal treats her staffers like untouchables.
