It appears that Denver, Colorado, Mayor Mike Johnston’s promise of rebellion and insurrection against the Trump administration will not materialize, at least any time soon.
Just after President Trump was elected in November, the far-left mayor warned that moms and cops would cordon off the city to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from entering, thereby stopping the arrest of illegals.
But nothing happened when agents found and locked up more than 240 illegals from July 12 through July 20. They were the usual collection of rapists, killers, drug addicts, and drunk drivers.
Meanwhile, in New York City, the Department of Homeland Security reported, ICE has served almost as many detainers on incarcerated illegals since January 20 as the Biden administration served in four years.
The illegals ICE collared are either charged with or convicted of serious crimes, ICE reported today.
One was wanted for murder, another for human trafficking, and five are either wanted for or convicted of sex crimes. Nine are dope fiends, while 13 are charged with or convicted of assault. Another eight are wanted for convicted burglary, robbery, or car theft. A whopping 17 are drunk drivers, and 50 have deportation orders.
Undoubtedly those 50 are “Denver men” or “Denver husbands and fathers.”
“Some aliens are suspected or confirmed members of gangs and transnational criminal organizations or drug trafficking organizations,” ICE reported. One each was linked to Los Zetas and the Sinaloa cartel, while four were linked to the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang. Three were linked to others.
President Trump designated the Sinaloa cartel and Tren de Aragua as terrorist organizations on his first day in office.
The illegals came from Africa, China, Mexico, Central and South America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
Considered by Democrats as “the people we care about most,” the illegals were charged with or convicted of vehicular manslaughter, human trafficking, hit-and-run, and child abuse, in addition to the aforementioned crimes.
The most dangerous were these cultural enrichers, all Mexicans, ICE reported:
Venezuelan Johnondris Daniel Rodriguez, 28, is a TdA terror gang suspect.
The arrests suggest that Mayor Johnston, as he promised, didn’t call out the cops and moms to block the arrests. In November, he told a city news website that ICE had better watch out.
“More than us having DPD [Denver police] stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston told the site:
It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right? You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them.
In May, the Justice Department sued Denver and Colorado to overturn their unlawful sanctuary policies.
Meanwhile, DHS reported today that detainers served in New York City since President Trump took office are already 63.6 percent of the total the Biden administration’s from 2021 through 2025.
Since January 20, ICE has served 6,025. Under President Joe Biden, the figure was 9,472. That’s an increase of 400 percent.
But New York, an unlawful sanctuary, “has honored just a handful.” That means criminal aliens will likely be loosed upon unsuspecting city residents and ICE will be forced to track and arrest them.
“When sanctuary politicians like Mayor Eric Adams ignore ICE detainers, they are protecting criminal illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens,” DHS spokesman Tricia McLaughlin said:
These are barbaric criminals with prior convictions for rape, murder, [and] drug trafficking, and instead of holding them for ICE, sanctuary politicians release them back into your communities. These reckless policies have deadly consequences. Just this week, two illegal aliens who entered our country and were released under President Biden shot and nearly killed a brave off-duty [Customs and Border Protection] officer. Both criminal illegal aliens had been arrested previously for violent crimes and released by the NYPD.
ICE arrested those two Dominican desperados — Cristian Aybar Berroa and Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez — during the weekend. Video shows them attacking and shooting the officer, then fleeing the scene.
In February, DOJ sued New York City and state to overturn their illegal sanctuary statutes. At the time, Attorney General Pam Bondi warned that, “if you are a state not complying with federal law, you’re next. Get ready.”
