Border czar Tom Homan told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the Biden administration released almost 1,300 Iranians into the country. That suggests a frightening possibility. President Trump might well have activated a sleeper cell of Iranian terrorists inside the United States with his attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The number of Iranians whom Biden freed should alarm national security officials and leaders on Capitol Hill. In January last year, top congressional leaders received a letter from former FBI officials who said the Biden administration’s policy of open borders was a major internal security threat.
Now, with Trump’s bombing Iran on behalf of Israel, that threat has heightened.
The bombing also raises an observation, apropos of an X post from GOP U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (S.C.). Trump has yet to destroy south-of-the-border drug- and human-smuggling cartels, as Homan has repeatedly said he would.
Bartiromo asked Homan to assess the danger of Iranian sleeper cells who “want to do bad to America.”
Homan delivered a shocking number.
“I’ve said in the last four years, my biggest concern was this open border,” Homan said:
It was the biggest national security vulnerability this country has ever seen. So, I pulled numbers this morning, just from the [Customs and Border Protection] under Joe Biden. There were 1,272 nationalists from Iran released in the country between [Office of Field Operations] and the Border Patrol.
Homan bragged that Trump has closed the border and released zero illegals:
But under Joe Biden, we had over 10 million people cross that border. But my biggest concern from day one, beyond the fentanyl, beyond the sex trafficking women and children, were the two million known “gotaways” — over two million people crossed that border. We don’t know who they are or where they came from, because they got away because Border Patrol is so overwhelmed with the humanitarian crisis that Biden created. Over two million people crossed the border and got away. That is my biggest concern, and that’s what created the biggest national security vulnerability this country’s ever seen.
One wonders whether Trump considered those Iranians before he OK’d bombing Iran. A sleeper cell might be plotting a major terror attack. A lone Iranian loon now has a motive to shoot up a school or public park.
That aside, Homan’s datum invites recalling what 10 former FBI officials told Congress about the millions of illegals Biden had released:
It would be difficult to overstate the danger represented by the presence inside our borders of what is comparatively a multi-division army of young single adult males from hostile nations and regions whose background, intent, or allegiance is completely unknown. They include individuals encountered by border officials and then possibly released into the country, along with a shockingly high estimate of “gotaways” — meaning those who have entered and evaded apprehension.
A “startling number” are on the terror watch list or are from terror-designated nations, the officials wrote, along with China and Russia.
“These men are potential operators in what appears to be an accelerated and strategic penetration, a soft invasion, designed to gain internal access to a country that cannot be invaded militarily in order to inflict catastrophic damage if and when enemies deem it necessary,” the officials wrote.
And, again 1,272 are from Iran. Even if those Iranians are not members of a sleeper terror cell, they have a motive to retaliate against Americans.
That truth, and Trump’s promise to destroy the drug- and human-smuggling cartels that controlled some portions of the southwest border, invited Marjorie Taylor Greene to inquire about them.
The pro-Trump congresswoman’s note on X is particularly significant. That’s because of not only Homan’s revelation to Bartiromo, but also his past threats to find and destroy the cartels.
At the Republican National Convention last year, Homan sent a message to the cartels, eight of which are now designated terror organizations.
“I got another message,” he told the GOP worthies:
I got another message to the criminal cartels in Mexico. You [sold] enough fentanyl across this country to kill 148,000 young Americans. You have killed more Americans than every terrorist organization in the world combined. And that’s [why] when President Trump gets back in office, he’s going to designate you a terrorist organization, and he’s going to wipe you off the face of the earth. You’re done. You’re done.
After cartel terrorists fired at Border Patrol agents as illegals tried to cross the border in Fronton, Texas, Homan repeated the threat to Fox talker Sean Hannity:
The whole of government is going to dismantle these people and wipe them off the face of the earth. They are not going to go lightly.
Five days before they shot at border agents, cartel terrorists attacked hikers.
Thus, the opening to Greene’s X post after Trump bombed Iran:
I don’t know anyone in America who has been the victim of a crime or killed by Iran, but I know many people who have been victims of crime committed by criminal illegal aliens or MURDERED by Cartel and Chinese fentanyl/drugs.
Despite that, she said:
America has not dropped bunker busters on the Cartel’s sophisticated drug tunnels, launched tomahawks on massive cartel poisonous drug operations, or gone to war against the cartels international terrorists networks.
Trump supporters — notably the victims of illegal-alien crime and cartel fentanyl and other drugs — await his order “to wipe them off the face of the earth.”
