Leftists can’t get it through their heads that they cannot interfere with the arrest of illegal aliens and other actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just because they don’t like President Trump’s mass deportation.

Thus are three more people in hot water for assaulting federal agents.

Today, U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli of California’s Central District announced the arrest of two medical professionals in Ontario, California. They tried to stop ICE agents from arresting an illegal alien who took refuge in their facility.

As well, authorities have captured the man who threw rocks and explosives at U.S. marshals in Paramount, California.

The worst thing is that Democratic politicians are promoting violence against ICE and other federal agents. That’s one reason attacks on ICE agents have jumped more than 800 percent since Trump took office.

Indeed some Democratic elected officials are themselves attacking ICE agents.

The two healthcare workers, Jose de Jesus Ortega, 38,  and Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, face charges of assaulting and conspiracy to prevent by force and intimidation a federal officer from discharging his duties, the Justice Department reported today.

Trouble for the two, who work at the Ontario Advanced Surgery Center, began on July 8, when ICE officers were following three men in a truck, which quickly entered the center’s parking lot. Ontario is about 30 miles east of Los Angeles.

“Officers approached the men after the men had exited the truck, and two of the men ran away,” the Justice Department explained: 

One of the fleeing men — an illegal alien from Honduras — was partially detained near the surgery center’s front entrance before he resisted and pulled away, causing both him and the ICE officer to fall to the ground. Shortly afterward, a medical staffer helped the alien off the ground and helped pull him away from the officer. The alien proceeded inside the surgery center and was pursued by the ICE officer, who eventually stopped him.

That’s when Ortega and Davila foolishly attempted to rescue the illegal. They “impeded and interfered with the arrest — Davila by wedging herself in between the officer and the alien, pushing the officer, and shouting, ‘Let him go!’ and ‘Get out!’; Ortega by grabbing the officer’s arm and then his vest,” prosecutors allege.

Another ICE agent showed up, and they arrested the illegal. Media reports identified the illegal as 30-year-old “landscaper” Dennis Guillen.

Essayli posted video of the crimes on X.

Of course, the hate-Trump Mainstream Media falsely reported that ICE collared the Honduran during a medical appointment. 

“The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient,” Essayli said:

He ran inside for cover and these defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents. 

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you work, if you assault our agents or otherwise interfere with our operations, you will be arrested and charged with a federal crime.

Prosecutors allege that Ortega and Davila broke two laws. The first is 18 U.S. Code 372, conspiracy to impede or injure an officer. The second is 18 U.S. Code 111, assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal agents. If convicted, they face a maximum of six years on the first count and eight on the second.

The arrest of Elpidio Reyna two days ago ended a more-than 30-day man hunt. He too is charged with felony assault on a federal officer.

The criminal complaint against Reyna alleges that he threw “projectiles, including rocks and improvised explosives” at U.S. Marshals Service deputies. “While the deputies were not hit,their vehicles were visibly damaged as a result, with dents in the body of the vehicles and broken windows,” the complaint alleges. 

Fox News 11 video caught Renya “interacting with a Los Angeles councilwoman,” the complaint says. Even better, Reyna posted video of his attack to his own TikTok account.

Reyna surrendered at the U.S.-Mexico border.

A Border Patrol agent who was in the vehicle Reyna attacked arrested him, Essayli wrote on X.

Yet leftists on the street and in medical clinics aren’t the only hate-Trumpers who think they can get away with assaulting federal agents.

So also did far-left Democratic New York City comptroller Brad Lander, who assaulted federal agents who were arresting an illegal at an immigration court in New York City, authorities allege.

Before that, far-left Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey, prosecutors allege, assaulted ICE agents at an illegal-alien detention facility in Newark. She faces three charges of assault.

Democrats are otherwise encouraging violence against ICE agents. The vice mayor of Cudahy, California, Cynthia Gonzalez, invited Hispanic gangs to fight with ICE in a now-famous video. U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal of California doxed an ICE agent to violent protesters when ICE showed up at a pot farm to arrest illegals.

Other elected officials frequently call ICE agents Nazis and terrorists.

The Department of Homeland Security recently reported that attacks on ICE agents have jumped 830 percent since Trump took office.
