MSNBC has fired regular guest Matthew Dowd, the talker who said, in so many words, that murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk got what he deserved.
But he isn’t the only hate-Kirk nut to lose a job.
So have other individuals in prominent positions who should know that they can’t hide their social media. Even members of the military are celebrating his death, which will almost certainly invite punishment.
The message from the crackpot Left: Kirk was a hater who reaped what he supposedly sowed.
Dowd sunk his career at MSNBC during an interview with talker Katy Tur minutes after Kirk was shot. For her part, Tur called Kirk “divisive” and “polarizing,” a sentiment that Dowd felt compelled to amplify.
“[Kirk has] been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech … sort of aimed at certain groups,” Dowd said:
And I always go back to hateful thoughts, lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that’s the environment we’re in, that … you can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have, and then saying these awful words, and not expect awful actions to take place.
Not smart.
MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler moved quickly to control damage.
“During our breaking news coverage of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, Matthew Dowd made comments that were inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable,” she said. “We apologize for his statements, as has he. There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”
Dowd apologized too, but the damage was done. The far-left, hate-Trump network booted him out the door.
Why Tur hasn’t been fired is unclear.
X users are helpfully curating the lunatics employed in the government, notably by the military.
A Marine Corps recruiter in Chicago, Jacoby Williamson, had this to say about Kirk’s assassination: “Another racist man popped.”
At minimum, the post appears to violate Article 133 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Conduct Unbecoming an Officer and Gentleman, as one user noted.
Another war department employee, Miles Carter-Washington, wrote that Kirk “got what he deserved.”
Many of those celebrating Kirk’s murder are either teachers or healthcare workers. That means people charged with defending the nation, teaching children, and providing medical care are far-left haters. “Take a close look at many of the groups we see over-represented in celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death,” Douglass Mackey wrote:
-Teachers
-Healthcare Professionals
-Government Workers
These are NOT radical blue-haired freaks. They are the highly-indoctrinated Democrat rank and file.
Tatiana N. Atkins, for instance, is thrilled with Kirk’s murder:
I’m just really glad that Charlie Kirk got himself f**king shot because he’s right, empathy is dangerous to society, so no one should give a f**k that he’s dead.
The post wrongly identifies the deranged woman as an anesthesiologist at a hospital in Miami, which published a statement that she finished a residency there in 2018. Sportskeeda.com reported that her Instagram account was shut down after the post went viral.
Laura Sosh-Lightsy was an assistant dean of students at Middle Tennessee State University until she posted this: “Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence. Hate begets hate. ZERO sympathy.”
The university fired her “immediately.”
Amanda Macy, a realtor in Virginia, lost two jobs. “The world is a better place with less trump supporters, period,” she wrote. She too was fired.
On Bluesky, the Democratic Party in Simsbury, Connecticut, wrote that Kirk “got exactly what he deserves.”
The hate was so prevalent on the far-left website that it posted a warning to users that celebrating Kirk’s murder would not be tolerated.
But celebrating Kirk’s murder wasn’t enough for some leftists. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh curated threats that he “is next.”
“A lot of concerned people are sending me these screenshots (and dozens more),” he wrote on X:
I appreciate their concern. But I’m not surprised and I won’t be going into hiding. We have to be louder and bolder now than ever. Or else the demons who killed Charlie win. And they cannot win.
Other threats targeted President Trump, Andy Ngo, Ben Shapiro, and J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books.
