President Trump’s unconstitutional and unnecessary attack on Iran might destroy the MAGA coalition that he put together with promises of not involving the United States in more foreign wars.

GOP U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who strongly supports the president, has twice denounced the air raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and former Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida has joined her.

So also has GOP U.S. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky, who called the attack unconstitutional and just days before had introduced a bill to block Trump from attacking Iran. Trump’s answer: He formed a political action committee to defeat Massie next year.

Greene launched a second barrage today, just hours ago.

“MAGA is not for foreign wars,” the tempestuous congresswoman wrote:

We are not for regime change.

We are for AMERICA FIRST.

The United States should not be involved in fighting nuclear-armed Israel’s war with Iran.

On Sunday, she dropped a 636-word bomb that opened with the obvious: 

I don’t know anyone in America who has been the victim of a crime or killed by Iran, but I know many people who have been victims of crime committed by criminal illegal aliens or MURDERED by Cartel and Chinese fentanyl/drugs. …

However America has not dropped bunker busters on the Cartel’s sophisticated drug tunnels, launched tomahawks on massive cartel poisonous drug operations, or gone to war against the cartels international terrorists networks.

Neocon warmongers beat their drums of war and act like Billy bada**es going to war in countries most Americans have never seen and can’t find on a map, but never find the courage to go to war against the actual terrorists who actually do kill Americans, invade our land, and make BILLIONS doing it day after day, year after year.

Greene wrote that she is 51 years old, and the United States has been at war “for as long as I can remember.” She was a high school sophomore during Operation Desert Storm. Her father served in Vietnam, “another senseless foreign war,” she wrote.

“America is $37 TRILLION in debt and all of these foreign wars have cost Americans TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS of dollars that never benefited any American,” she continued:

American troops have been killed and forever torn apart physically and mentally for regime change, foreign wars, and for military industrial base profits. 

I’m sick of it. 

I can easily say I support nuclear armed Israel’s right to defend themselves and also say at the same time I don’t want to fight or fund nuclear armed Israel’s wars. 

Nor any other country for that matter. 

I’m sick of funding foreign aid and foreign countries and foreign everything. … 

It pi**es me off beyond comprehension that my children’s generation can’t afford to buy a house, can’t afford insurance, and have little hope for their future!!! 

Americans are exhausted by all of this and rightfully so. 

Greene said she supports Trump and his administration — but not on Iran. She says that is “not disloyalty,” but instead “critical thinking.”

She told Gaetz on One America News that Israel attacked Iran a day after the Israeli Knesset nearly voted to dissolve parliament, which would have subjected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to an election. That was June 12.

Gaetz observed that North Korea’s nuclear program “is a far greater threat to the United States.” Having served on the House Armed Services Committee, he said, he knows that Iran “has neither the bomb, the delivery system, nor the re-entry vehicle” with which to attack the United States. North Korea’s crazy leader, Kim Jong-un, openly discusses vaporizing major American cities.

Then there’s Massie.

“This is unconstitutional,” he wrote on X, touting his Iran War Powers Resolution, introduced with far-left Democrat Ro Khanna of California, to stop an attack on Iran without congressional authorization.

“The Constitution does not permit the executive branch to unilaterally commit an act of war against a sovereign nation that hasn’t attacked the United States,” Massie said:

Congress has the sole power to declare war against Iran. The ongoing war between Israel and Iran is not our war. Even if it were, Congress must decide such matters according to our Constitution.

“When two countries are bombing each other daily in a hot war, and a third country joins the bombing, that’s an act of war,” he continued on X:

I’m amazed at the mental gymnastics being undertaken by neocons in DC (and their social media bots) to say we aren’t at war … so they can make war.

“Three bombings to neutralize Iran” is akin to “two weeks to slow the spread,” he said on CNN.

Trump replied on Truth Social with characteristic fury.

Massie “is not MAGA, even though he likes to say he is,” Trump fumed:

Actually, MAGA doesn’t want him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t respect him. He is a negative force who almost always Votes “NO,” no matter how good something may be. He’s a simple minded “grandstander” who thinks it’s good politics for Iran to have the highest level Nuclear weapon, while at the same time yelling “DEATH TO AMERICA” at every chance they get. …

MAGA should drop this pathetic LOSER, Tom Massie, like the plague! The good news is that we will have a wonderful American Patriot running against him in the Republican Primary, and I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard. MAGA is not about lazy, grandstanding, nonproductive politicians, of which Thomas Massie is definitely one. Thank you to our incredible military for the AMAZING job they did last night. On Sunday, Axios reported that Trump has created “Kentucky MAGA,” a super PAC set up to defeat Massie in next year’s primary. 

During his second campaign for president, Trump repeatedly cast himself as an anti-war president. The Associated Press compiled a few of his greatest anti-war hits.

In January 2024, for instance, he said Americans must “turn the page forever on those foolish, stupid days of never-ending wars. They never ended.”

He also called primary opponent Nikki Haley a “warmonger” whose foreign policy platform boiled down to, “Let’s kill people all over the place and let’s make a lot of money for those people that make the messes.”

Trump also bragged that he never started a war, and billed himself as “the only president who rejected the catastrophic advice of many of Washington’s Generals, bureaucrats, and the so-called diplomats who only know how to get us into conflict, but they don’t know how to get us out.”

Iran attacked U.S. bases in Qatar today. Qatar said it intercepted the missiles.
