Apropos of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s observation that the far-left Mainstream Media are lying about the Trump administration’s efforts to round up and deport illegal-alien rapists, murderers, and other criminals, DHS has detailed the “fake news” published or broadcast during June.
Noem spoke at presser when she and President Trump visited the new Alligator Alcatraz illegal-alien detention facility. Attacks against agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, she said, have increased partly because of the media’s lies.
Yesterday, DHS released the list of what it says are lies the media have told.
The DHS list of fibs, lies, and half-truths is a long one, and opens with a classic piece of propaganda from The New York Times.
On June 28, it published a one-sided piece under this headline: “Concerns Grow Over Dire Conditions in Immigrant Detention: Mass immigration arrests have led to overcrowding in detention facilities, with reports of unsanitary and inhumane conditions.”
Riffing off the deceptive headline, DHS offered its take on “immigrant detention.”
Claims that facilities are overcrowded or “subprime” are “categorically FALSE,” DHS said. The illegals received “proper meals, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers.”
DHS didn’t drill into one most important aspect of the Times hit piece. The reporters repeatedly referred to the illegals as “immigrants.” Nowhere does the Times call the illegals even “undocumented immigrants.”
The purpose: Confuse readers. DHS is not arresting and detaining “immigrants.” It is arresting and detaining illegal aliens.
Though the Times included comments from DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin, more than 90 percent of its more than 1,800-word jeremiad were unsubstantiated complaints from illegal aliens and their hangers on. “Interviews with more than two dozen former detainees, lawyers, family members and lawmakers suggest that conditions in facilities across the country have become unsanitary, intolerable and in some cases, for detainees with health problems, unsafe,” the Times reported.
The interviews included the usual far-left pro-illegal advocates.
Another Big Lie came from hate-Trump CNN, which published a bogus report under this headline: “Less than 10% of immigrants taken into ICE custody since October had serious criminal convictions, internal data shows.”
DHS laid out the facts:
FALSE. In President Trump’s first 100 days, 70% of ICE arrests were criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges.
Secretary Noem has unleashed ICE to target the worst of the worst — including gang members, murderers, and rapists.
“The official data … tells the true story,” DHS explained over a screenshot over the same lie from hate-Trump CBS:
70% of ICE arrests were criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges. Additionally, many illegal aliens categorized as “non-criminals” are actually terrorists, human rights abusers, gang members and more — they just don’t have a rap sheet in the US. This deceptive “non-criminal” categorization is devoid of reality and misleads the American public.
One of the worst of the worst, Noem revealed at the Alligator Alcatraz presser, is a cannibal who began eating himself on a deportation flight. Others among the worst of the worst are killers and sex perverts, including child rapists, DHS reported separately.
Two false claims in the big list of “fake news” came out of Los Angeles, one from mediocre thespian Jon Favreau in a now–deleted tweet.
“Have heard from multiple sources that ICE is now going from park to park in Los Angeles, arresting caregivers — some who are legal residents — and separating them from the American children they’re caring for,” the Rudy and Iron Man actor wrote. “Kids are being thrown into the back of a van until their parents are located.”
Not so, DHS reported.
“Claims being spread on social media that ICE has conducted operations at Douglas Park to target and arrest nannies are unequivocally FALSE,” the agency said. “These are the type of lies being spread to demonize our brave ICE law enforcement who risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens including suspected terrorists, gang members, murderers, and rapists from American communities.”
Not to be left out, the Los Angeles Dodgers — mostly famous of late for sponsoring “Pride Night,” an evening devoted to sex perverts — claimed that it had denied ICE access to its stadium parking lot.
The headline from hate-Trump NBC: “Dodgers block ICE agents from entering stadium in Los Angeles, team says.”
“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,” the team wrote on X. “They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization.”
The reply from DHS: Nope. Never happened. “CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement,” DHS reported.
As ICE noted at the time: “We were never there.”
Perhaps the most egregious falsehoods appeared under this baseless headline in the far-left Nashville Banner: “ICE Arrested a Pregnant Tennessee Woman — While in Detention in Louisiana, She had a Stillbirth: Iris Dayana Monterroso-Lemus spent three days asking guards at Richwood Correctional Center for help before she was hospitalized, where physicians said she lost her pregnancy due to a lack of prenatal care.”
Indian immigrant Representative Pramilla Jayapal of Washington repeated the far-fetched yarn on X, including the whopper about “cockroaches.” Jayapal is known for her strained relationship with the truth.
DHS knocked down the falsehoods in that story last month. It was not, it said, responsible for the illegal’s losing her unborn child.
The Banner and subversive Jayapal missed this important fact, as DHS explained:
Monterroso-Lemus was arrested twice for child abuse/neglect with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office. She also has an active warrant for homicide in Guatemala. Monterroso-Lemus entered the country illegally in 2018 and was deported back to Guatemala on May 9, 2025.
