Josh Koskoff, an attorney representing the families of the 19 children and two teachers killed during the 2022 school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, announced at a press conference earlier today that the victims’ families and the city of Uvalde have reached a $2 million settlement agreement.
Koskoff stated the city agreed to pay $2 million, and the families agreed to not sue the city: “The city of Uvalde has agreed to pay its insurance of $2 million, which is all that there was.” Koskoff stated the families would sue the State of Texas and federal government.
Families have called for law-enforcement officers to be criminally prosecuted for their poor response to the shooting, and have filed lawsuits against firearm manufacturer Daniel Defense.
