Far-left Democratic Boston, Massachusetts, Mayor Michelle Wu says that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who wear masks when they arrest illegal-alien rapists, murderers, and other thugs are neo-Nazis.
During a television interview, the mayor likened the agents — who wear masks to protect their identity and families — to a little-known crackpot, neo-Nazi outfit NSC-131, or National Socialist Club 131.
Wu’s remarks are nothing new, and build on similar comments, including one from recently failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, Minnesota’s radical leftist governor. He likened agents to the Gestapo, the secret police in Nazi Germany.
The White House and Department of Homeland Security called Wu’s remarks “shocking” and “sickening.”
Wu is a radical leftist who vowed that Boston officials would not help ICE arrest and deport illegal aliens, and indeed, would protect them in violation of more than one federal law.
Wu apparently doesn’t believe that “no one is above the law,” as Democrats frequently insist, and that illegals are, indeed, above the law.
That aside, Wu delivered remarks consistent with her records and that are a Democratic trope. She was, apparently, particularly incensed that ICE and other federal agents collared almost 1,500 illegal aliens in Boston and Massachusetts, more than half of whom were dangerous criminals.
But Wu has gone a step further from vowing to break the federal laws that forbid harboring illegals and not sharing information about immigrants. Now she’s endangering the lives of ICE agents.
“I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks. We know that there are other groups that routinely wear masks. NSC-131 routinely wears masks.”
Asked whether she had compared ICE agents to neo-Nazis — tantamount to comparing them to Nazis — Wu answered thusly:
What I said is that Boston police and no police department that I know about at the local level routinely wears masks.
“Shocking,” the White House Rapid Response X feed answered.
Answered DHS:
Mayor Wu comparing ICE agents to neo-Nazis is SICKENING.
When our heroic law enforcement officers conduct operations, they clearly identify themselves as law enforcement while wearing masks to protect themselves from being targeted by known and suspected gang members, murderers, and rapists.
Attacks and demonization of our brave law enforcement is WRONG. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.
ICE agents wear masks for fear of far-left or cartel retaliation against themselves and their families, officials have said.
Speaking of a recent ICE-Secret Service raid, Lyons elaborated:
People are out there taking photos of the names, their faces, and posting them online with death threats to their family and themselves. We arrested someone that was going online, taking their photos and posting their families, their kids Instagram, their kids, Facebook and targeting them.… Is anyone upset with the fact that ICE officers’ families were labeled terrorists?
The far-left Democratic mayor of Nashville recently doxed ICE agents after they arrested almost 200 illegals in that benighted blue city. He might face federal obstruction and other charges.
Wu’s comments are not surprising, and not just because she is a far-left activist mayor. Wu has been linked to Chinese intelligence through a Chinese spy who doubled as a fundraiser for her campaign.
Thus, Wu could be an agent of influence. If so, she would have a vested interest in stopping the deportation of Chinese illegal aliens, or hostile Chinese nationals here on visas, such as the two who were caught smuggling a “potential agroterrorism weapon” into the United States.
Wu is not alone in attempting to provoke anger at federal agents who enforce duly-passed laws.
Failed Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz thinks ICE agents are the Gestapo — another false, incendiary, irresponsible comment. Walz delivered the comments to the graduates of the University of Minnesota Law School on May 17.
“Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets,” said the man known as Tampon Tim, a National Guardsman who abandoned his troops when his unit deployed to Iraq:
They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons, no chance to mount a defense, not even a chance to kiss a loved one goodbye, just grabbed up by masked agents, shoved into those vans, and disappeared.
In fact, they are deported, not “disappeared,” another far-left trope.
“Walz’s comments comparing ICE agents to the Gestapo is sickening,” DHS spokesman Tricia McLaughlin said. “This type of rhetoric and demonization of ICE officers has led to our officers facing a 413% increase in assaults.”
Walz went after ICE, as DHS noted, because it arrested some of “the people we care about most,” as far-left Democratic Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut calls illegal-alien criminals.
Among those people were these, DHS reported:
But Walz was only aping his running-mate, Vice President Kamala Harris. In 2018, she compared ICE agents to members of the Ku Klux Klan.
