Several Palestinians were injured in the latest settler raid on a village in the West Bank, Al Jazeera and other Arabic media outlets reported Saturday evening.
The latest attack was said to target the Palestinian village of Deir Dibwan near Ramallah.
Assailants torched a building located on the outskirts of the village and hurled stones at residents inside the town, according to reports.
Footage uploaded to social media showed around a dozen figures appearing to set fire to property near trucks on the town’s fringes.
Another clip showed an ambulance exiting the village, presumably carrying the Palestinians injured in the attack. It is unclear how many were wounded.
As is almost always the case in such attacks across the West Bank, there were no reports of any arrests.
Deir Dibwan is one of many Palestinian villages whose lands are located fully or partially in Area C, a region of the West Bank under full Israeli jurisdiction.
Over the past two years, Palestinian villages in Area C have been targeted in an increasing number of attacks by extremist Israeli settlers, which go unpunished in the vast majority of cases.
Law enforcement and military responses to settler violence have faced mounting scrutiny amid concerns that members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hardline right-wing cabinet are unwilling to tackle extremist attacks on Palestinians. Police officials have pushed back against the criticism.
Just east of the town, Bedouin residents of Maghar al-Deir, a much smaller village located partially on Deir Dibwan’s land, fled their homes in late May, citing intimidation by settlers from a newly erected outpost.
Residents who returned to the area on May 24 to collect their belongings were attacked by masked settlers from the outpost. The attack injured twelve residents, including a 14-year-old boy.
Further north in the West Bank, dozens of settlers raided the village of Bruqin on May 23, injuring eight Palestinians.
The attack was said to be part of a revenge campaign by settlers after a terrorist from the town killed Israeli Tzeela Gez earlier in the month as she headed to the hospital to give birth.
Palestinian media reported that five homes and five vehicles were set ablaze during that rampage. Footage showed several vehicles completely burned and homes partially set on fire.
Two days later, settlers again reportedly attacked the village, torching several homes and vehicles. None of the assailants were apprehended.
