Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented US President Donald Trump in the White House on Monday with a mezuzah case in the shape of a B-2 stealth bomber.

The fighter jets were instrumental in US strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites last month amid Israel’s 12-day war with Iran, dropping huge 30,000-pound bunker-busting bombs on the Fordo and Natanz facilities.

Netanyahu can be seen in a silent snippet of video distributed by his office presenting the US president with the item upon his arrival at the White House for their dinner meeting. His office did not respond to a request for comment about the gift.

A mezuzah is a small parchment scroll inscribed with the words of the Shema, a traditional Jewish prayer, which Jews hang in doorways, often in decorative cases.

An image of the gift circulated online showed that it was accompanied by a small plaque reading “To President Donald J. Trump, in appreciation for the big beautiful bombs of Midnight Hammer,” the name given to the US operation, with the wording a reference to Trump’s key budget legislation.

Yaron Bob, an Israeli blacksmith and artist who makes artworks out of downed rockets and shrapnel, wrote on social media that he was responsible for creating the gift. He hinted that the case in question was forged out of remnants of downed Iranian missiles.

In an interview with the Maariv newspaper, Bob said that the Prime Minister’s Office reached out to him to create the specialized gift, “and asked me if I had an idea how to make it in the shape of the B-2 bomber.”

Bob noted that the mezuzah scroll itself “is located exactly in the place where the B2’s armament is, which is the powerful part of both the plane and of the mezuzah… I’m happy for the privilege I had to make it.”

The artist has been commissioned for a number of other high-profile artworks crafted from shrapnel, including a menorah presented to then US president Barack Obama in 2014, and has held exhibitions around the world.

Returning the favor, on Tuesday Trump presented Netanyahu with a red baseball cap reading “Trump was right about everything,” signed by the US president.

It is a common practice for visiting foreign leaders to present their hosts with gifts.

During his visit to the White House in February, Netanyahu presented Trump with a golden pager, a reference to the clandestine Israeli operation last year that decimated the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon.

According to The New York Times, Trump found the gift to be disturbing.
