The culture of death that the government of the UK has unleashed on its own people is all so diabolically ugly that it has something of the character of the caricature. It has the grimness of the grimace of a grotesque gargoyle.
There was something darkly comical about the recent revelation that the grandfather of the new head of MI6, the UK’s foreign intelligence agency, was a Nazi war criminal who fought in the SS and took part in the cold- blooded killing of civilians. The darkness deepens and becomes less comical when we realize that the grandfather was Ukrainian and that his Nazi sympathies reflect the Nazi sympathies of the Azov Battalion of today’s Ukrainian army, which is being assisted by MI6 in its war with Russia. Truth is indeed much stranger than fiction.
Much darker and much less comical is the UK Government’s own current implementation of Nazi-style “final solutions”. A few weeks ago, on June 17, a law was passed in Britain which legalizes the killing of babies right up until the moment of birth. This strips away the anti-scientific notion that the fetus in the womb is just “a clump of cells”, which is not fully human. Nobody in their right mind believes that a baby is “a clump of cells” one second before birth and that it becomes fully human a second later, as soon as it exits the womb. Clearly the UK government is sanctioning and supporting the slaughter of babies, plain and simple. It has legalized widespread government-sponsored infanticide.
In addition to the systemic slaughter of children, the new law has brought back the ancient institution of slavery. The baby in the womb has been stripped of all human rights. He or she is the property of the slave-owner who has the absolute right to do what she likes with her child, including having it killed.
Following hot on the hellish heels of the legalization of infanticide is the legalization of “assisted dying”, which the UK government passed on June 20, three days after the infanticide bill. Like “euthanasia”, which ironically means “happy death”, the whole notion of “assisted dying” is the slippery slope to the compulsory killing and systematic culling of the old, sick and disabled. This might seem shocking but think about it. At first, we are merely showing “compassion” for those who are suffering and who want us to help them commit suicide. Soon, however, once “assisted dying” becomes common-place, it will be seen as a moral imperative for those who have become a “burden” on their relatives or on the state. Relatives or doctors will suggest that the compassionate thing for the weak family member is to allow himself to be killed, as an act of “love”, to relieve his or her relatives of the “burden” he or she has become. Selfish relatives will coerce the frail or disabled member of their family, claiming that he or she is being “selfish” if he or she persists in remaining a “burden”.
As for the attitude of the state to those who are unable to pay for their healthcare in old age or serious sickness, it takes little imagination to see that treatment will be withdrawn from those who cannot afford to pay for it. Ironically, in the culture of death into which the UK has plunged, only two types of people will receive the medical attention they need up to the moment of natural death: the rich and those who have raised their children to respect the sanctity of life. Those who are poor and childless will be terminated. And the irony deepens and darkens still further. Those who choose to live selfishly, seeking self-empowerment by choosing to remain childless, are signing their own premature death warrants.
As with the its Nazi forebears, the UK government privileges the fit and the strong over the unfit and weak. It favours the Übermenschen, those who have the political power to get what they want, at the expense of the Untermenschen, the powerless ones considered to be subhuman or not fully human or somehow inferior. For the UK government, as for its Nazi forebears, the “subhuman” status has nothing do with what one does but with who one is. To be a Jew or to be a baby is all it takes for the Untermensch to be deprived of human rights.
As for the UK government’s emulation of its Nazi forebears, let’s look at the way it treats political dissidents, those who have the temerity to disagree with it. It is now an offence in UK law to say anything “offensive”. Of course, the government’s understanding of what is “offensive” is anything which is offensive to its own fascist ideology. It is not “offensive” to advocate the killing of babies but it is “offensive” to criticize the killing of babies. It is even an offence to pray outside abortion mills. Even if the prayer is not uttered out loud but is merely said in the silence of the heart, it is still an offence. In Scotland, it is a criminal offence to pray silently for an end to abortion near an abortion mill, even in your own home if you live near an abortion mill. Silent prayer has become a “thought crime” worthy of Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four.
In the wake of this “woke” madness, the wisdom of St. John Paul II comes to mind: “The acceptance of abortion in the popular mind, in behaviour and even in law itself, is a telling sign of an extremely dangerous crisis of the moral sense, which is becoming more and more incapable of distinguishing between good and evil.”
Needless to say, the saint’s wisdom will be considered “offensive” to the UK government.
The culture of death that the government of the UK has unleashed on its own people is all so diabolically ugly that it has something of the character of the caricature. It has the grimness of the grimace of a grotesque gargoyle. It expresses the demonic sneer of contempt towards all that is good, true and beautiful. It is nothing less and nothing other than the Pride which precedes the fall.
It is said that the devil needs enough rope to hang himself. This is true. But if we give the devil enough rope he’ll hang us first. He hangs the innocent and the guilty. He hangs his enemies and his friends. The irony is, however, that he gets much more satisfaction when he hangs his disciples than when he hangs the innocent. His reason is logical and theological enough. The innocent are destined to escape his infernal grasp. His disciples, on the other hand, are his for the keeping.
