Good evening. Rishi Sunak has insisted that Ukraine is already grateful for the support it receives from the West, after Ben Wallace told Kyiv that the UK was “not Amazon”.

Ben Wallace revealed he said “we’re not Amazon” after being presented with a list of weapons when he travelled to Kyiv last year. The Defence Secretary warned that repeated demands could alienate key allies, noting influential figures in Washington had complained about the level of support given to Kyiv. Asked at the Nato summit in Vilnius if he agreed with his Defence Secretary that people would want to see “gratitude” from Ukraine, Rishi Sunak said that Volodymyr Zelensky had “expressed his gratitude for what we’ve done on a number on occasions”. We have more on the Prime Minister’s defence of the Ukrainian president on our live blog.

Joe Biden has said he looks forward to Ukraine joining Nato after the war. The US president told Mr Zelensky he understood Kyiv’s frustration at not being granted swifter entry into the military alliance. Speaking in Vilnius, the Ukrainian president expressed gratitude for Western support but said he would press Mr Biden for long-range missiles. We have more on the US president’s comments on our live blog.
