Good evening. The King and Princess Diana were targeted by Mirror Group Newspapers as it paid £10 million to private investigators to snoop on celebrities, the High Court has been told. We also have the latest weather news, as Somerset was hit by flash floods and mudslides.
It is alleged that MGN paid investigators for information about the King six times between May 2000 and October 2002, with seven payments relating to Princess Diana from May 1996 until September 1999.
The claims are made in documents submitted to the court by lawyers representing Prince Harry, who is one of four people bringing civil claims against MGN for allegedly hacking phones and using other unlawful methods to gather information about them.
