Tucker Carlson attacked Ted Cruz over his support for American involvement in Israel’s conflict with Iran.

The former Fox News host got into a heated exchange with the hawkish Texas senator on Tuesday, exposing a growing rift among MAGA supporters over the US’s role in the escalating crisis.

In a clip from the Tucker Carlson Show interview, which is due to be released today, the conservative commentator accused Mr Cruz of not knowing “anything” about “the country you seek to topple”.

Mr Carlson first asked Mr Cruz if he knew the population of Iran. When the senator responded that he did not, Mr Carlson replied: “At all?” before adding: “You don’t know the population in the country you seek to topple?”

Mr Carlson told him the population was 92 million and asked: “How could you not know that?”

Mr Cruz replied: “I don’t sit around memorising population tables.”
