Donald Trump sent his well-wishes to his sometimes nemesis Taylor Swift after she announced her engagement to Travis Kelce.

The 35-year-old shared a photo of Kelce, also 35, down on one knee in a garden filled with white and pink roses beneath a decorative arch.

As Swift’s army of fans, known online as Swifties, took the news in, so did America’s newsrooms.

Fox News even cut away from live coverage of Mr Trump’s ongoing cabinet meeting to break the news of the engagement.
